The urge to flip switches is almost irresistible...even when you know full well the consequences for doing so. Once more your finger moves as if of its own accord, and activates the second phase of the Savage Initiative. As the gentle arrangement drifts from the terminal, you are transported to a remembered vista of the Sigmascape, each lapping wave of the song swelling the boundary of your memories...

— In-game description

Sigmascape V1.0 (Savage) is a level 70 raid introduced in patch 4.2 with Stormblood. The raid is also known as O5S.

Strategy

Phantom Train - Phase 1

Many attacks are quite similar to normal mode. Unlike normal mode, the arena railing will be missing for the entire encounter. Players can walk, fall, or be pushed off the train to an early demise—though they can be raised after a moderate delay.

Phase 1 Abiltiies
Name Description
Connectivity A stacking debuff tether attached to the main tank if they leave melee range of Phantom Train. Deals damage over time based on stack count.

Stack count is increased with distance and removed by returning to melee range.

Acid Rain Unavoidable party-wide damage.
Doom Strike A tankbuster.
Encumber Simple Line AoE blocks appear down the center of the platform. These AoEs become wroth ghosts surrounded by movement blocking walls.
  • Players caught inside the AoE when the wroth ghosts initially appear are instantly killed.
Saintly Beam Two to four players are marked by a targeting reticle and chased by a spotlight. After five seconds the spotlights stop moving, then incinerate any players or ghosts inside the light.
Head On A proximity AoE placed on the north side of the platform. Deals a strong directional knockback towards the south of the platform.
Diabolic Wind A green spread circle placed on two to four players.
Diabolic Headlamp A line stack marker placed on a random healer. Deals heavy knockback.
Diabolical Headlight Targets the main tank and one healer with a placeable proximity AoE that are placed after 8 seconds, then detonate after another 5 seconds.
Diabolic Whistle

(All in the Mind)

A Remorse ghost appears on the left or right side of the arena and casts All in the Mind, dealing high directional knockback to all players. Can be resisted with abilities.
Diabolic Whistle

(Crossing Ghosts)

Lines of ghosts appear on both sides of the platform and slowly move across.

Touching a ghost results in being pulled into a Passenger Car where the player must kill a high-health enemy to return.

Diabolic Whistle

(Tether Ghosts)

Two ghosts appear that attach chase tethers to two random players. Two other players are marked by Saintly Beam. The ghosts will teleport their targets to a Passenger Car if caught.
  • Ghosts will only teleport the player they are tethered to. All other players can safely move through the ghosts.

While similar to normal mode, players will have to be extra wary of knockback. Players may elect to not remove all the Encumber blocks to provide a safety net against all the directional knockback effects. Note that Encumber blocks have a thin space inbetween, allowing players to squeeze in to avoid knockbacks from the north.

The addition of Connectivity will also require the main tank to avoid running too far or being pushed too far away from Phantom Train. While the damage-over-time is not lethal, the extra stress on the healers may result in negative consequences.

Only a few attacks in Phase 1 are noteworthy:

  • Diabolic Whistle (All in the Mind) requires all players to stand between the ghost and an Encumber block. Alternatively players can use Arm's Length or Surecast to resist it entirely.
  • Diabolic Whistle (Tether Ghosts) requires the tethered players to lure their ghosts into the beams to be destroyed. If the ghosts are not destroyed by the beams, they will speed up and unavoidably catch their targets.
    • An easy strategy is to have one player with Saintly Beam stand still in the center while the tethered players run in a circle inside the light. Once the beam position solidifies, the tethered players can circle just outside the AoE until the ghosts are destroyed.
  • Diabolical Light should be dropped to the back of the arena so that players can stay close to Phantom Train. As the main tank is always targeted, a tank swap should occur to prevent Connectivity from attaching to the tank running towards the back.
  • Diabolic Headlamp should always be kept in the middle to prevent players from being pushed sideways off the train.
Phase 1 Rotation
Attack Strategy
Encumber Avoid standing inside the AoEs.
Saintly Beam Players should leave one or two middle Encumbers alive for knockback protection.
Diabolic Whistle

(All in the Mind)

Either stand beside an Encumber on the same side as the ghost, or use a knockback resist ability.
Doom Strike Mitigate and heal.
Head On Run to the back of the train. The main tank can stand closer in front of an Encumber to minimize stacks of Connectivity.
Diabolic Wind The two spread circles should split to the east and west side while all others stay in the center.
Acid Rain --
Diabolic Whistle

(Crossing Ghosts)

Dodge the ghosts moving across the platform.
Saintly Beam Dodge the beams. Players may elect not to destroy the Encumber blocks.
Diabolic Headlamp Stack in the center of the platform.
Diabolic Whistle

(Tether Ghosts)

Destroy the tether ghosts with the Saintly Beams.
Diabolical Headlight Tank swap and place the proximity AoEs at the back of the platform before running back to the front.
Acid Rain --
Phase 2 Start

Phase 2

Phantom Train moves to the west side of the arena and drops off several Putrid Passengers that attack with small simple line AoEs. Diabolical Winds will also target all four DPS, then all four tanks and healers. Once all Putrid Passengers are killed, a jump pad will appear.

Like normal mode, players must destroy the Doom Chimney on top of the train. Players are then inflicted with Throttle for 20 seconds and must be teleported by a ghost before the debuff kills them.

New to savage mode, however, is that the eight ghosts are unique and must be taken by certain roles:

  • Large black-cloaked ghosts must be picked up by tanks, as they have a low amount of health but cast powerful tankbusters.
  • Small purple-cloaked ghosts must be picked up by healers. These ghosts have a high amount of health, inflict a curable Reduced Immunity debuff, then repeatedly cast Shadows of Remorse—which deals 50% of the players max HP as damage but also inflicts a powerful stacking Bleeding debuff on the ghost.
  • The red-cloaked ghosts must be picked up by DPS, as they must be killed quickly before they enrage.

Once players defeat their ghost, an Aetherial Stream will appear that will take the player back to the main arena.

The fight will continue with the same previous attacks, but with quicker attacks and combinations requiring fast responses.

After the 10 minute mark, Phantom Train will begin a 10 second cast of Saintly Beam that wipes the entire party.
