Echoes of Vana'diel is the level 100 24-player Alliance Raid series for Dawntrail. This raid series is a collaboration with Final Fantasy XI.

Story

A pall of unease has settled over Yak T'el, and memories of a world not our own now find themselves buried in the woods. The Warrior of Light has set off to investigate, but what secrets will they unearth beneath those shaded boughs?

Release

The first part of Echoes of Vana'diel was released with Patch 7.1 on November 12, 2024. This included the 24-man alliance raid, Jeuno: The First Walk. The second part of Echoes of Vana'diel was released with Patch 7.3 on August 5, 2025 and included San d'Oria: The Second Walk. The third and final part of Echoes of Vana'diel was released with Patch 7.5 on April 28, 2026 and included Windurst: The Third Walk.

Trivia

  • All NPC names are displayed in English regardless of what the client language is set to. This is a nod to Final Fantasy XI where NPC names are displayed in a similar fashion.
  • The maps for the setpiece area Lower Jeuno and all raids are styled after FFXI maps. Similarly, most of the music, enemies, and attack names are also from FFXI.
  • When enemies are casting an attack, they use the casting animation from FFXI (orange orbs and lines moving into the user), rather than the FFXIV casting animation (lines of golden light or lightning bolts rising from the ground).
