The urge to flip switches is almost irresistible...even when you know full well the consequences for doing so. Once more your finger moves as if of its own accord, and activates the second phase of the Savage Initiative. As the gentle arrangement drifts from the terminal, you are transported to a remembered vista of the Sigmascape, each lapping wave of the song swelling the boundary of your memories...

— In-game description

Sigmascape V2.0 (Savage) is a level 70 raid introduced in patch 4.2 with Stormblood. The raid is also known as O6S.

Strategy

Like normal mode, there is a black and blue paint puddle in the east, and a pink and yellow paint puddle in the west. Moving into these paint puddles changes the player's Duty Action to a brush matching the color of the paint the player stepped into.

The Duty Action is used to color the sketched canvases on the ground. Sketches can only be activated by standing on top of it and using the correct color of paint indicated by the symbol above it.

New to savage mode is a fifth sketch in the center, The Siren, which requires all four colors to activate.

The four Paintings in each corner of the arena remain unchanged from normal mode, however, The Goddess will use these paintings alongside The Demon—resulting in new effects and abilities.

Sketches and Paintings
Type Effect
Waterfall Sketch A sketch in the southeast requiring blue paint. Buffs the player with Fire Resistance Up for 20 seconds.
Air Force Sketch A sketch in the northeast requiring black paint. Places the player on a flying Air Force mount, increasing movement speed and becoming immune to earthquakes.
Boulder Sketch A sketch in the southwest requiring yellow paint. Creates a giant unmoving boulder. Only one player needs to paint this sketch, and the boulder remains until destroyed.
Typhon Sketch A sketch in the northwest requiring pink paint. Transforms the player into Typhon and grants the Snort ability, dealing knockback to enemies in a frontal cone. Only one player can be Typhon at a time.
Siren Sketch A sketch in the center requiring all four colors used within 10 seconds. Restores all MP and cures Apathetic. Can only be used once per fight.
Fire Painting Demon Possession: Deals extreme fire damage to all players.

Goddess Possession: Unused.

Earth Painting Demon Possession: Casts a lethal earthquake attack.

Goddess Possession: Places a large simple circle AoE underneath every player.

Water Painting Demon Possession: Creates a lethal line of sight AoE originating from the painting.

Goddess Possession: Instantly casts Flash Flood from the water painting and the Haunt's painting, creating two giant unmarked simple line AoEs and leaving only small areas safe.

Wind Painting Demon Possession: Covers the arena in unkillable Easterly wind enemies that detonate into powerful simple circle AoEs after 15 seconds.

Goddess Possession: Creates a tornado stack tower.

Phase 1

Phase 1 Abilities
Name Description
Demonic Howl Unavoidable party-wide damage.
Demonic Shear A tankbuster.
Demonic Storm A Stack marker placed on a random healer.
Poltergeist A ghost appears next to The Goddess and attaches a chase tether to a random healer. This ghost stops moving when looked at, but will instantly kill its target if it catches them.

At the same time, The Goddess casts Divine Lure, a gaze attack that inflicts Seduced for 8 seconds, forcing players to slowly walk towards The Goddess.

Demonic Pain Creates two proximity tethers attaching each tank to a different DPS player. Deals high damage and inflicts Vulnerability Up if the tether is too short.
Last Kiss A random DPS player is marked with a red arrow, then debuffed with Last Kiss. After 10 seconds, the debuff resolves with a tankbuster to the afflicted.

Last Kiss is transferred to other players via touch. Previously afflicted players gain Slippery Prey, preventing them from receiving the debuff again.

The key to this phase will primarily revolve around handling the Sketches and Painting attacks correctly. Players should start the fight by grabbing the blue paint in preparation for the first painting attack.

  • Poltergeist can be handled by having the tethered healer stare at the ghost, but turning around just before the cast of Divine Lure to dodge the gaze, and then looking at the ghost again until it disappears. All other players can keep attacking the boss.
  • The DPS player marked with Last Kiss should stand off to the side and stack with the off-tank. Once the debuff transfers, the off-tank should move away to ensure no other players accidentally take Last Kiss.

There are three Possession combinations to look out for in phase 1:

  1. Demon Fire + God Wind: All players must paint the Waterfall Sketch to buff themselves with Fire Resistance Up. Players can then either stack together in the stack tower or a tank can take it alone with an invulnerability to improve DPS uptime.
  2. Demon Wind + God Earth: All players should stack together initially to consolidate the simple circle AoEs into one location. A tank should paint the Typhon Sketch and use Snort to blow the Easterly orbs away from the boss, creating a safe zone.
  3. Demon Fire & Earth + God Water: Chadarnook will be at the Earth Painting while a Haunt controls the Fire Painting. All players must paint the Waterfall Sketch first, then immediately also paint the Air Force Sketch to survive the combination of Demon Fire & Earth. All players should then stack together by the Earth Painting to dodge the massive Flash Flood AoEs.

Soon after the third cast of Possession, Goddess Chadarnook will cast Lullaby indicating the start of Phase 2.

Phase 2 Start

Phase 2

Phase 2 Abilities
Name Description
Lullaby Inflicts all players with Apathetic, draining MP to 0 and significantly reducing healing received.
Demonic Stone High damage homing AoEs that chase two random DPS players, indicated by a targeting reticle.
Demonic Spout Places a small simple circle AoE underneath every player twice in succession.

At the start of this phase, players will immediately want to split up, grab a different color of paint, and prepare to paint the Siren Sketch the instant everyone is inflicted with Apathetic.

  • If this is done too soon, the Siren will have no effect and the sketch will disappear for the rest of the battle.

Much of the fight continues as the previous phase with a few extra complexities:

  • Demonic Stone will occasionally target two random DPS players, forcing them to stay moving while avoiding other players. This will also be combined with Poltergeist later in the fight, forcing the DPS to run in a large circle to ensure they have room to run away from the gaze attack while staying mobile.
  • Demonic Spout will be combined with Demonic Storm, forcing players to stack up but dodge the AoEs in the same direction to ensure everyone stays inside the stack marker.

Lastly, there will be three more Possession attacks, two of which are new.

  1. Demon Wind & Water + God Earth requires a player to quickly paint the Boulder Sketch before stacking for the God Earth AoEs. All players must immediately hide behind the boulder, away from the Water Painting, to survive the flood. A tank can then once again transform into Typhon to blow away the Easterly orbs.
  2. Demon Fire & Earth is now combined with God Wind. Instead of hiding in a corner like in Phase 1, players will now want to stack together inside the stack tower. Alternatively, a tank can use an invulnerability and take the tower alone.

After 10 minutes and 45 seconds, Chadarnook will enrage with a 10 second cast of Demonic Howl that wipes the party.
