Representing the initiative's next great hop into the cosmos, the star boasts a striking crystalline landscape naturally rich in silicon. Although conditions on the surface are less than conducive to sustaining organic life, the abundant mineral deposits are a worthy prize for any potential hardship.

Phaenna is a zone in The Sea of Stars. Released in patch 7.31, it is the second of four zones associated with Cosmic Exploration.

  • 1 regular class A mission with a 2-hour Eorzea Time window.
  • 1 class A EX+ mission with a 4-hour window.
  • 1 class A EX+ mission with a 2-hour window. Requires Development Log 14 unlocked in the server.

All time-restricted missions in 2-hour windows are prerequisites for certain sequential missions.

Weather-restricted

Certain missions in Phaenna appear in one of two specific weathers: Clouds or Rain. Each of these weathers is available 20% of the time (the remaining being the default Fair Skies weather), so there is a 40% chance of any weather-restricted missions being up.

There is no skywatcher in the zone, but the weather and the corresponding missions that are available can be tracked using this site.

Weather-restricted missions are distinct from critical missions, which only spawn during Red Alerts and are specific per world.

There are two weather-restricted missions for each crafter and gatherer, one mission per weather per class.

Sequential

Completing certain missions with a gold star rank are prerequisites for unlocking other missions. These sequential missions then become available with no time limit. The prerequisite mission needs to be completed with a gold rank each time the player would like to attempt a sequential mission. There are 2-3 missions in a given chain. Some prerequisite missions are time-restricted.

Lore

I'm told it's the sixth astral body within star system UL-9, three carrots from Etheirys...whatever that means. All I know is it's the first we've managed to reach!
As you may have heard, much of the star is made of glass, from the aether clouds above to the magma veins below.
The rainbow crystal protects us here, but beyond its reach, the land is pelted with drops of molten glass. Unmanned drones could well be our only means of exploration out there.
