Red Alert

Red Alerts are timed events during special weather conditions in Cosmic Exploration zones. Red Alerts occur simultaneously in all instances of the same cosmic exploration zone in the same world (i.e. server), but are specific per world and cosmic exploration zone. They are announced five minutes before the event begins, and have a duration of twenty minutes.
During the Red Alert event, certain Disciples of Hand and Land (determined by the event) can complete critical missions, which give greater rewards than many normal missions and have the main advantage of being very fast and easy to complete. These critical missions can be completed and re-started multiple times throughout the event, although new critical missions cannot be started with less than one minute remaining. Like other stellar missions, critical missions are accessed through the stellar missions option in the exotablet interface. These missions do not have reward tiers (only gold rank is possible, giving the base rewards) and are available from level 10 onwards.

When a red alert is issued, two gauges will appear at the top of the screen to symbolize progress made for the classes in current demand. Two corresponding regions will be marked on the map, each of which contain mission locations for separate (2 to 3) classes. Gathering nodes are located in these regions, and crafters are free to craft the required items from anywhere. However, unlike other stellar missions, players do not complete the mission by pressing "Report" on the Mission in Progress widget, but instead must turn in their items at collection points within these marked regions, so it is beneficial to craft next to a collection point. Each time a critical mission is completed, the respective alert gauge will increase. By cooperating with other players, both gauges may be filled within the time limit, resolving the red alert and granting bonus rewards (200
and 1500
/
/
) for all who contributed.
If both gauges are not filled within the allotted time, fewer bonus rewards will be distributed to contributors.
Red Alert Types
Red Alerts are indicated by special weather conditions and the background music changing to Carrots of Happiness (Forge Ahead). These weather windows are not part of the normal weather, and the specific weather cannot easily be predicted. From compiled research, it appears that Red Alerts usually spawn roughly every 3.75 to 4.75 hours. In rare instances, interval lengths closer to 3 hours and 5.5 hours have been observed. Additionally, phase upgrade FATEs which require player involvement prevent Red Alert spawns, including failed upgrades events awaiting another attempt.[1][2]
Each zone has three red alert weathers. Many zones have multiple variants, with different locations and missions available for each variant.
- In Sinus Ardorum and Phaenna, each weather Red Alert has two variants, making for six unique red alerts and a total of 33 critical missions (three per class).
- In Oizys, one weather Red Alert has two variants while the other only have one each, making for four unique red alerts and a total of 22 critical missions (two per class).
Some red alerts require sufficient server-wide zone progression before they can spawn. The same red alert type cannot spawn twice in a row.

In Sinus Ardorum, the particular variant for the red alert can be identified in the five minutes prior to the actual event based on dialogue lines of NPCs between Orbitingway and Scanningway, at (X:21.6, Y:21.0). Knowing the variant beforehand is useful for maximizing mission completions during the event, as one can preemptively travel to the mission locations instead of spending the start of the event traveling.
In patch 7.4, Lefleda was retroactively added to Sinus Ardorum at (X:21.8, Y:21.3) for fast travel to red alert sites when one is currently active. When talking to her, players can choose to instantly teleport to either of the two mission locations. Therefore, pre-emptively predicting the red alert variant has become much less of an optimization gain.
