— In-game description
Thok ast Thok (Extreme) is a level 60 trial introduced in patch 3.0 with Heavensward.
Lord of the Hive: Ravana - Abilities
The battle against Ravana takes place in a 20y radius circular arena surrounded by wooden barriers. Throughout the fight, these barriers may be broken, creating a fall-hazard. Should players fall off the edge of the arena, they will instantly die, with their corpse returning to the arena after a short delay.
Ravana has a hard enrage timer of 10 minutes.
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Dragonfly Avatar | Ravana's default state. Provides no strengths or weaknesses. |
| Blinding Blade | A stack cleave attack. |
| Atma-Linga | Unavoidable party-wide damage. |
| The Seeing Right / Left / Wings | Ravana gains Directional Parry on three of his four cardinal sides. The only unprotected side will be the opposite to the cast's name.
Attacking a protected side causes a counter-attack that deals damage, knockback, and a cleanse-able Slow.
|
| Tapasya | A high damage cleave. After two seconds, Ravana then fires two untelegraphed static cone AoEs in the same direction. |
| Warlord Shell | Ravana buffs himself with Blessing of Earth for 20 seconds, placing a barrier on himself that absorbs a certain amount damage before breaking.
If this barrier is not broken before the debuff resolves, Ravana gains Blessing of Fire, greatly increasing his damage dealt. |
| Spirit / Moon Gana | Blue and red butterflies respectively that appear around the arena. Moon Gana have significantly more health.
After a short period of time, Gana will attempt to cast Falling Laughter. If successful, they disappear and leave a flaming sword in its place. |
| Bloody Fuller / Chandrahas | A cinematic party-wide attack. Each sword created by a Gana adds extra damage and a stack of Vulnerability Up to this attack.
Three segments of the arena's fence are destroyed. |
| Scorpion Avatar | Ravana glows red and wields two massive swords. Ravana deals and receives 50% more damage. |
| Prelude to Liberation | A large ~15y radius static circle AoE centered on Ravana, then followed by four static line AoEs, four fire puddles, and five 15y radius spread circles placed on random players. |
| Liberation | A 270-degree static cone AoE from Ravana's front, then followed by four clones of Ravana appearing at the edges of the arena, creating static circle AoEs on landing.
Ravana's clones will charge straight across the arena's center, creating static line AoEs from their positions in order of appearance. |
| Swift Liberation | Four random players receive sword number markers from 1 to 4. Ravana charges at these players in order of number dealing damage to them and any players inbetween.
Players hit receive Physical Vulnerability Up for 12 seconds.
|
| Final Liberation | Marks two players with Prey, which can be transferred to others through physical contact. Three random players are targeted by 15y radius spread circles.
Ravana charges at the Prey targets, inflicting damage and Physical Vulnerability Up to them and any players inbetween. Repeats a second time eight seconds later.
|
| Beetle Avatar | Ravana glows silver and loses his swords and wings. He deals less damage with Beetle Avatar, but damage dealt to Ravana is also reduced by 50% |
| Pillars of Heaven | A proximity AoE and radial knockback from the center of the arena. |
| Laughing Rose | A Stack marker aimed at a random player—the target indicated with white marker. |
| Surpanakha | A random player is marked with Prey, which can be transferred to others through physical contact. The previous owner receives Slippery Prey and cannot be marked again.
After six seconds, Ravana fires several AoE tankbusters at the prey target for an extended period of time. |
| Rose of Conviction | Five orbs appear around Ravana and attach chase tethers to five random players that do not have the highest enmity.
On collision, orbs explode in an AoE, dealing damage and inflicting Vulnerability Up to those nearby. |
| Rose of Hate | A static line AoE aimed towards the highest enmity player. |
Detailed Phase Explanations
Ravana's fight does not follow a hard set of attack rotations—instead there is a Bloodlust Meter in the duty information window.
This meter both fills over time and increases by 8 for every 1% taken off Ravana's health bar. Once this meter reaches 100, Ravana will change phases.
Every time a phase-change occurs, Ravana switches avatars and gains a permanent stack of Damage Up.
Phase 1: 100% - 87.5%
Phase 1 is the only phase in which the Bloodlust Meter does not fill automatically over time—thus this phase will loop endlessly until Ravana is brought down to 87.5% HP.
Ravana will loop between using Blinding Blade, The Seeing (X), Atma-Linga, and Tapasya endlessly.
Tanks should ensure Ravana is facing away from the party at all times and be ready to move out of the way of Tapasya's follow-up strikes.
All players should sheathe their weapons when The Seeing (X) is cast until they can move to an unshielded side. The main tank will have to hold still and not attack unless The Seeing Wings was cast.
Phase 2: Prelude to Liberation
Prelude to Liberation:
- Ravana creates a large 15y radius static circle AoE around himself.
- Several static line AoEs are created, aimed at random players.
- Four fire puddles are placed where players were previously standing.
- Five 15y radius spread circles placed on random players
After dodging the initial AoE around Ravana, players should attempt to stack together during the line AoEs to ensure puddles are placed on top of each other. This will give the party more safe room to spread out afterwards.
Liberation:
- A 270-degree static cone AoE is cast from Ravana's front
- Four clones of Ravana appear at the edges of the arena, creating large static circle AoEs on landing.
- Ravana's clones will charge straight across the arena's center, creating static line AoEs from their positions in order of appearance.
Players will want to stand behind Ravana, then stack in the center after to avoid the circle AoEs created by the clone's landing. Be aware that Ravana will rotate to face the tank until the cast of Liberation begins.
Run next to the first clone that landed, then once the clone charges across the arena, begin rotating towards the other clones.
Phase 3: Gana
In this phase, Ravana will not gain Bloodlust from receiving damage, it will only increase at a static rate over time.
Ravana returns to Dragonfly Avatar, but begins the phase with Warlord Shell. The party has a 20 second window to deal enough to Ravana to break the barrier and prevent him from receiving a powerful buff.
The Seeing (X) will also be cast twice in succession, increasing the difficulty of dealing damage to him.
Should the barrier be successfully broken, five waves of Spirit Gana and Moon Gana will fly down from the sky. These must be quickly killed by players before they can transform into swords.
- As Moon Gana have significantly more health, they should be prioritized first.
The list of Gana waves are as follows:
- 4x Spirit Gana
- 1x Moon Gana, 1x Spirit Gana
- 2x Spirit Gana
- 1x Moon Gana, 1x Spirit Gana
- 2x Spirit Gana
Once Ravana's Bloodlust Meter reaches 100, he will cast Bloody Fuller, dealing high damage to the party that is increased with each sword created from any Gana prior.
Phase 4: Beetle Avatar
Beetle Avatar always begins with Pillars of Heaven followed immediately by Laughing Rose. Players will need to hug one of the wooden barriers to survive the knockback before quickly running back to the center to stack together.
Afterwards, Ravana marks a random player with Prey, who will be the target for an unending stream of Surpanakha attacks until the next Phase. This debuff should be carefully passed to the main tank, who will stay on the opposite side of the Ravana for the remainder of the phase.
Lastly, Rose of Conviction will be cast, creating orbs that will tether to random players and chase them. The entire party will need to rotate around the arena to avoid the orbs, with the main tank rotating in the same direction to ensure the Surpanakha remains aimed away from everyone else.
Phase 5: Swift Liberation
Swift Liberation:
- Four players are marked with sword number markers from 1 to 4. Ravana then charges at these players in order, hitting any others in his path.
- Two line puddles are created, dividing the arena into four quadrants.
- Four random players being marked with 15y radius spread circles.
Waymarks should be placed at each cardinal edge of the arena (ideally numbered 1 to 4). Each marked player will need to run to an assigned waymark based on their number, ensuring that Ravana will rotate in a circle around the arena.
- Players should avoid standing between Ravana and the player marked as #1 prior to the attack starting.
- Once a marked player is hit by Ravana, they should immediately run to the center to avoid his charge at the next numbered player.
- A static donut AoE is created in the arena's center, followed quickly by a 15y radius static circle AoE.
Once all four charges are complete, players should spread around the edges of the arena to prevent having more than two spread circles in the same quadrant.
Final Liberation:
- Two players will be marked with Prey as Ravana begins a lengthy cast.
- Ravana creates a clone and charges at both Prey targets, functioning identically to Swift Liberation's charge.
- Three people are marked with 15y radius spread circles, then Ravana and his clone charges a second time at whichever two players are marked as Prey at the time (the charge starting from where the previous charge ended).
There are a couple of ways to handle Final Liberation, though a common method is listed below:
- Both players marked by prey run to opposite edges of the arena. All players should avoid standing in the crossfire.
- Once both players are charged at, two players not marked by spread circles will take the Prey debuffs and rotate 45 degrees around the arena either clockwise or counterclockwise.
- The two initial targets must remember to run back to the center after being hit to avoid the second charge.
Phase 6: Loop
From here onward, the fight loops between Dragonfly Avatar, Beetle Avatar, and Scorpion Avatar in that order until the enrage timer is reached or Ravana is defeated.
Scorpion Avatar will no longer use preset attacks, and instead randomly cast two of the four types of Liberation before reverting back to Dragonfly Avatar.
