In a land of unfamiliar views and vistas, the wandering minstrel remains a familiar constant, as does his appetite for thrilling and fantastic tales. You speak with him of your clash with the dread Valigarmanda, and it sets his mind to racing─each strike a note to be woven into song, a tale of high adventure that will endure for generations.
Ever wont to embellish his retellings, he muses on a foe untouched by the fetters of imprisonment, a Valigarmanda who can bring its full might to bear. Would the Third Promise and her companions have emerged victorious from such a threat? Such is the question raised in your mind as melodies stir your memories, setting you before the mighty serpent once more...
— In-game description
Worqor Lar Dor (Extreme) is a level 100 trial introduced in patch 7.0 with Dawntrail.
Unlock
Players must talk to the Wandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal (X:11.2, Y:14.7) after completing How the West Was Sung, which requires Dawntrail.
Mechanics & Timeline
Players may fall off the arena to their deaths. Being hit with any avoidable AoEs will either inflict a stack of Damage Down, Vulnerability Up or Sustained Damage, along with possibly other effects.
Tural Vidraal: Valigarmanda
Mechanics
Body animation attacks: Basic attacks indicated by the animation of the boss with late AoE telegraphs. The first time these attacks occur, a warning message will appear on the screen. Being hit of these will inflict Sustained Damage and a stack of Trauma. Receiving 2 stacks of Trauma will immobilize the player for a few seconds with Concussion, which can be cleansed with Esuna.
- A tempestuous wind surrounds Valigarmanda... The boss begins circling the arena while wind gathers around it, indicating a donut AoE (Strangling Coil) with the middle of the room safe.
- Valigarmanda gathers its strength... The boss hovers its claws above the arena indicating a large point-blank AoE (Slithering Strike) with the safe region out of melee range.
- Blinding energies build within Valigarmanda's wide-open beak... The boss opens its mouth, gathering energy, indicating a wide conal AoE (Susurrant Breath) with the safe spots in the top corners.
Arena modifiers: When these body animation attacks are used, they are paired with another mechanic depending on the phase.
- Fire: A partner stack
- Ice: Several ice crystals casting line AoEs, rendering most of the floor unsafe
- Thunder: An invisibly placed, point-blank thunder AoE, that goes off about 2 seconds after the respective body animation attack
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Spikesicle | Ten line telegraphs appear on the floor one-by-one. After all ten telegraphs are shown, icicles will be shot down those paths in that order, leaving ice bombs in the front, sides, and back of the arena. After the second icicle is shot, these ice bombs will begin to explode in the order they spawned in. Getting hit by ice bomb or icicle will give you a stacking damage down and vulnerability stack. |
| Skyruin | A heavy-hitting raidwide AoE that transitions Valigarmanda between its 3 phases. Gives a 15 second DoT in the respective element Valigarmanda is transitioning to. |
| Triscourge | A raidwide AoE that gives 3 debuffs:
|
| Mountain Fire | A 6-hit tank tower that gives a short Fire vuln and Fire DoT when soaked. Every hit leaves a small cone behind the player who soaked the tower that is safe, with the rest of the arena being engulfed in flames:
If no-one soaks the tower, it will explode doing massive damage, giving the party a vuln and nasty Fire DoT. |
| Disaster Zone | A raidwide AoE that transitions the arena back to how it was at the start. |
| Ruin Foretold | A raidwide AoE that starts the intermission phase, spawning 3 beacons that must be destroyed before Valigarmanda's "Ruinous Power" gauge reaches 100. |
| Calamitous Cry | Valigarmanda will keep using light-party line stacks for the duration of the intermission phase. These line stacks are wild charges. Each line stack pair that is used gives Valigarmanda a stacking damage up for the rest of the intermission phase. (If the last beacon is destroyed before the next line stack pair, the line stacks will not go off.) |
| Tulidisaster | A 3-hit heavy raidwide AoE, with time between each hit to heal and mitigate. This attack will leave a persistent DoT to all party members for the remainder of the encounter. If both Ice and Thunder phases have already taken place, the third hit of this AoE will act as the enrage. |
| Hail of Feathers | 6 proximity AoEs will spawn around the arena clockwise or counterclockwise. Each proximity AoE will leave a targetable feather that can be destroyed. |
| Blighted Bolt | Each surviving feather will explode with a point-blank AoE after the message "Bolts of lightning fall upon the battlefield..." |
| Thunderous Breath | 5 Arcane Spheres appear on the sides of the arena, indicating where line AoEs will hit after the cast goes off. All party members must be levitating and standing in the safe row, where an Arcane Sphere isn't casting a line AoE. |
| Ruinfall | A knockback that sends the party about half of the arena southward. There is also a double-tank tower that must be soaked in the middle of the arena, as well of 3 circular AoEs making much of the southern section of the arena unsafe. |
| Freezing Dust | All party members must be moving or they will freeze, entombing players who stand still inside an ice rock that must be broken to free them. |
| Ice Talon | A circular AoE tankbuster on the two party members with the most enmity. |
| Wrath Unfurled | A moderate raidwide AoE |
