Pugilist

The path of the pugilist is one of incessant training aimed at mastering the traditional techniques of hand-to-hand combat. Though pugilists command formidable power when unarmed, they are wont to use metal, leather, and bone weaponry to maximize their destructive potential.
Their preference for fighting at close quarters makes negotiating distances an absolute necessity. Many among them accomplish this by avoiding burdensome armor, allowing for maximum mobility while they move in for the kill.

Pugilist (PGL) is one of six starting DPS classes and one of three starting Melee DPS. It upgrades to Monk at level 30.

General information

Guild

The Pugilists' Guild is in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald. If you choose pugilist as your first class, you will start off in the city of Ul'dah. At level 30, pugilists must specialize into monk.

Equipment

The pugilist is a disciple of war and wears armor "of Striking" and accessories "of Slaying," same as Monk. They use fist weapons. The following crafting classes can create items that are useful to the pugilist:

Blacksmith — Fist Weapons.
Leatherworker — Striking armor.
Goldsmith — Slaying Earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings.
