Resplendent Tools
Resplendent Tools are primary tools for level 80 Disciples of the Hand and Land. These tools can be acquired after crafting and submitting items from certain
Expert Recipes. The gathering tools are instead obtained from Gathering Log achievements.
Requirements
Players must first complete the quest The Boutique Always Wins.
Crafters overview
- In order to obtain a resplendent tool, you must first use
Purple Crafters' Scrips to purchase resplendent material A from a Scrip Exchange. - Using
Expert Recipes from the Master Recipes VIII tomes, this material can then be used to craft resplendent component A, which can be exchanged with Limbeth for a higher-grade material, resplendent material B. - The process is then repeated, crafting resplendent component B to exchange for resplendent material C. This material is then crafted into resplendent component C, which can be traded for the final resplendent material.
- After acquiring a sufficient number of the final resplendent materials, they can be traded for a resplendent tool.
- Resplendent tool components crafted prior to the release of Patch 6.0 have been renamed "obsolete" resplendent tool components.
- Obsolete resplendent tool components may still be used to exchange for upgrade materials by speaking with Limbeth.
- Obsolete resplendent tool components must meet collectability rating requirements to be exchanged.
Once a resplendent tool has been obtained, that tool is unlocked for repurchase from Calamity Salvager NPCs for
1,000 Gil.
Guide
The process is as follows:
- Buy 1 Material A with Scrips and use to craft Component A.
- Turn in Component A at Limbeth to receive 1 or 2 Material B.
- Use 2 Material B to craft Component B.
- Turn in Component B at Limbeth to receive 1 or 2 Material C.
- Use 2 Material C to craft Component C.
- Turn in Component C at Limbeth to receive 1 or 2 Final Material.
- Use 60 Final Material to purchase Resplendent Tools from Limbeth.
If a player can hit the max collectability per craft at every step, then they will only need to buy 30 Material A for each class. If not, a player will need as many as 240 Material A, since each step will need to be repeated twice as much.
- Each Material A costs
25 Purple Crafters' Scrips. Therefore, in the best case (30 Material A), this costs a total of
750 per class. In the worst case (240 Material A), it would cost
6,000.
Macro tips
For a consistent macro that does not rely on Specialist actions, Meal buffs, or Medicine buffs, it is generally recommended to have level 100 scrip gear or better.
A good starting point is to use a macro-solving website where you can input your level and stats, such as Raphael. A macro from the solver should be enough for the Component A step.
However, because the Component B and C steps sometimes have the "Malleable" condition (1.5x to progress gained), there is a chance that the craft will finish too early, which is effectively the same as a failed craft. This can be fixed by adding Final Appraisal with a wait time of 2 seconds, right before any action that would increase progress - this will prevent said action from finishing the craft. Since Final Appraisal does not consume a step, and it costs only 1 CP to use, it is easy to slot it in as a guardrail without much drawback.
However, make sure that Final Appraisal is NOT active for the final step of the craft, or else durability will likely run out at the last step, and the craft will fail. The buff lasts for 5 steps and is only consumed when progress would've hit 100%, so it can be cast a few steps before the progress-increasing skill it is intended to stop.
If the "Primed" condition is active on the step that Final Appraisal is cast, then the buff will last 7 steps instead. Therefore, for additional safety, try to avoid casting Final Appraisal within the final 7 steps of a craft.
Alternatively, ensure that the progress-increasing actions in your macro are at the end, when quality is already maxed out.
Gatherers overview
Gatherers obtain their resplendent tools from gathering log achievements.
For Botanist and Miner, a more-detailed guide is on each achievement's page; but generally speaking, the main items to worry about are from timed nodes. Items from Legendary Nodes (unlocked through Tomes of Regional Folklore) also count towards the achievement, so make sure to buy those tomes with scrips if needed.
Also note that the achievements only count the total amount of items, they do not care which expansion the items came from. This means that normal items from later expansions can decrease the amount of folklore book purchases required.
