Keybound Brawler, a new event that tests your typing prowess, is coming to the Manderville Gold Saucer! The first iteration of the event will be a special collaboration with the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE series.

Participate in the collaboration stages to obtain MGC which can be exchanged for numerous rewards, including collaboration attire, a mount, emote, and more!

Keybound Brawler is a special event that is taking place from October 28, 2026 to February 2027.

It is a collaboration with the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, consisting of a four-player typing minigame that takes place in Keybound Square, a new area connected to the Gold Saucer. Players progress through waves of "battles" by typing specific words to attack enemies.

After the initial event period, it will rerun in irregular intervals, similar to Blunderville.

Requirements

• A keyboard is required to participate in this content. Gamepads and on-screen keyboards cannot be used.
  • Besides being potentially considered "lethargic behavior" under the terms of service, entering Keybound Brawler and then not participating in gameplay will result in significantly worse rewards; each player receives different rewards based primarily on their individual performance.

Guide

1. Unlock the Gold Saucer by talking to the Well-heeled Youth at Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (X:9.6, Y:9.0) to start the quest It Could Happen to You. Players must be level 15 or higher and must have completed at least one of the following main scenario quests: The Gridanian Envoy, The Ul'dahn Envoy, or The Lominsan Envoy.
2. Complete the following limited-time event quest: Keyward Bound offered by the Catlike Mammet in the Gold Saucer (X:5.4, Y:7.0).
3. Win Manderville Gold Saucer Credits in Keybound Brawler challenges.
4. Exchange MGC for prizes from the MGC Trader in Keybound Square (X:6.2, Y:6.0).

Players can enter Keybound Square from the main Gold Saucer area by talking to the Keybound Brawler Attendant by the aetheryte (X:5.9, Y:6.3) or by talking to W'zazanh at Wonder Square (X:6.1, Y:7.3).
