Valentione's Day (2025)

Valentione's Day (2026) is a special event that took place from February 2, 2026 to February 16, 2026.

The season of ardor and affection is come again, and as per custom, cities and residential areas the realm over are set to be festooned with romantic decorations. In Gridania, the emissaries of love, Astrid de Valentione and Emilie, are preparing a spread of sumptuous cakes─provided their mammet-assisted supply chain doesn't encounter any unexpected issues...

Requirements

Players must be level 15 or higher, and must have completed the quest It's Probably Pirates.

Guide

Start the event by talking to Astrid in Old Gridania (10.2, 9.2) to start the quest The Icing on the Cake.

Activities

Players can enter the seasonal event instance The Pâtisserie solo or with up to 4 players, with an option to matchmake. This is done by speaking to a House Valentione Pâtissier, located at Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre in Old Gridania or the Acorn Orchard in New Gridania.

During the instance, players need to collect ingredients from the shelves at the edge of the room, and carry them to the cakes in the middle of the room, while avoiding the Mammet Pâtissiers that patrol the area. Should a player be spotted by a mammet, it will follow them and fire large conal ice AoEs (Sugar Blizzard). Being hit by a mammet's AoE will inflict Deep Freeze for 10 seconds and cause the player to lose any ingredient they are currently carrying.

Many different types of cakes can be made, each of which requires a different combination of ingredients. The party can create up to five cakes. The first cake will always be a heart berry cake using the simpler recipe. The second, third and fourth cakes will be randomly chosen recipes. The fifth and final cake has no specific ingredient requirements, only needing 4 ingredients submitted per category. The NPC Kupka Kupp will automatically update the duty progress with the needed ingredients, and the shelves with the correct ingredients will sparkle. Upon completing the second cake, the background music will change and the mammets will move faster. This happens again upon completing the fourth cake.

Players have access to the action "Bake: Off" (available on Hotbar 1), which will temporarily disable mammets in a cone in front of the user, causing them to lose aggro. This can hold up to 3 charges, with a charge recovering every 15 seconds. However, this action has an animation lock (which can leave the user vulnerable to a mammet's AoE), and it cannot be used while carrying an ingredient.

The duty has a time limit of 10 minutes from when Kupka Kupp calls out the first batch of ingredients. When this time limit runs out, the duty ends, even if some cakes are not yet finished. If in a matched party, players will then have an opportunity to give Player Commendations to their matched party members.

Tips

"Bake: Off" hits in front of where the player is facing without needing a target selected, so it is possible to miss mammets if not aimed correctly.
Given that there are four different sections in the map each containing one category of ingredient, and each cake requires four items from each ingredient category, it is recommended for players in a light party to split up so each player is responsible for one section only.
During the short downtime after completing a cake, players should pre-position by the ingredient shelves to save time.
Sprint and all class/job actions except for Bake: Off are disabled in this duty, so players cannot use jobs with movement actions (e.g. dancer) to gain an advantage. Fleet of Foot (10% increased movement passive) from rogue / ninja does not appear to be functional.
If players find they are carrying an excess ingredient when the quota is filled, they can right-click off the "Carrying" buff.

Players are awarded Valentione's Day Chocolates based on how many cakes they finished (plus the progression of the next one), and these chocolates can be traded to a House Valentione Maid vendor for event items.

For example, if the party finished two cakes and contributed 5 ingredients to the third one before time runs out, each player would receive 65 chocolates.

A total of 55 chocolates are needed to buy all of the gear and orchestrion roll items from the vendor.

Buying one of each furniture item costs 13 chocolates (ignoring the Rolanberry Valentione Cake, as the quest gives one for free).

Hearts across this fair realm torment themselves with unspoken ardors, and thus have we crafted events to inspire even the shyest of souls to confess their hidden feelings.

What is Valentione's Day?

It is a time of celebration, when we honor the life of Countess Arabelle de Valentione: a high lady of Ishgard, who struck out against her life of cosseted detachment, and risked all in pursuit of a pure and all-consuming love.

In the years after the countess's passing, a tradition became established among the Ishgardian populace: every year at this time would they strive to emulate her passion and her bravery, by plucking up their own courage and bestowing a token of love upon the object of their affections.

Who is Astrid?

The Lady Astrid belongs to the newest generation of House Valentione's emissaries.

As a descendant of Countess Arabelle de Valentione, the desire to see others' hearts skip a beat runs in her noble blood. If you would aid this diminutive avatar of love in her efforts to saturate the realm in ardor and affection, then you need but make yourself known to her.

Who is Emilie?

Emilie is a Gridanian native and an apprentice emissary of ardor.

Alongside Lady Astrid, she strives to support those in need of a little push in their pursuit of love. She is always happy to meet new and old faces alike, so I encourage you to seek her out should you wish to make her acquaintance.

Who is Lisette de Valentione?

Lady Lisette is the former head emissary of ardor, and even now there are none who stoke the fires of passion in Eorzean hearts more than she.

Having passed the mantle of leadership to Lady Astrid, she has taken to independently attending those in need of guidance with matters of the heart.

Who is Hortefense?

Ser Hortefense is an emissary of ardor and the fiancé of Lady Lisette.

Years ago, the lady found him on the verge of death and plucked him from its encroaching claws. The two were eventually reunited summers later, and they vowed to never again be apart. Ser Hortefense has passionately aided others in finding love for themselves ever since.

Who is Kupka Kupp?

A moogle who has labored long in the ways of love, by traveling hither, thither, and even yon to deliver gifts, missives, and packages to the realm─all in the name of ardor and affection, of course. His contributions to Valentione's Day festivities over the years have been nigh incalculable!

Many are those who make wishes upon his heart-shaped pom as they pray for a love to be requited, or for their heart's desire to be realized. He is first and foremost an emissary, however, so should you require a special delivery to a special someone, it is to him you ought turn.

Ropli asked us to visit other lands to learn what we could. After callin' in the Yok Huy and Alexandrians for the Wachumeqimeqi Appreciation Sale, he has his eye on attractin' stallholders from other lands as his next enterprise.

Seems his desire to connect disparate peoples through commerce ain't so easily sated! Before we left, I could've sworn I heard him mutterin' somethin' about gatherin' beads the world over...

Exposure to other cultures is a truly valuable experience for any artisan. And what luck that our visit should coincide with a local festival!

The decorations, the design─all artfully evoking a celebration of love! And the attention to detail on the cake decorations... Oh, it's simply exquisite!

What a simply wonderful array of cakes. While chocolate has come to be enjoyed as a sweet treat in Tuliyollal of late, I can't say I've seen it used quite like this before.

Though, now that I think of it, chocolate may be an ideal gift to demonstrate love and care. It has long been said to be beneficial for one's spirits and physical health alike.

Perhaps I should consider keeping some in stock for the discerning client. After all, who's to say that medicine more pleasing to the eye and palate is any less effective?

Though Ropli saw to the arrangements for our travel, I was somewhat uneasy at the idea of Shunye journeying unattended. So I thought to accompany him as both guard and guide.

In my past travels, I encountered a Gridanian festival once before. As I recall, enormous eggs loomed large throughout the city. I remember being awed by the sheer scale of celebrations.

I'm afraid I was so preoccupied with preparations for our journey that I failed to heed the explanation of the festival we're currently observing. A celebration of desserts, I take it? Regardless, I shan't complain when served such delicious cake!
