Lists of Fishing Locations

Due to the length of the list, the fishing locations pages have been split by expansion:

Fishing Hole Discovery

The name and coordinates of all the holes listed in the Fishing Log can be found on the fishing locations pages above. For a challenge, players may attempt to find all the holes themselves. Any hole where the player has not yet caught a fish will appear in their log as "Undiscovered".

To discover these holes, the following approaches may help:

Quests

Quests often display the location of fishing holes on the map, so fishers should complete as many of the following as possible:

Custom Deliveries

Custom delivery lists will also display the location of fishing holes. Refer to the requirements section on that page for a list of custom delivery NPCs and their required quests.

Zone Maps

  • Players should inspect each map for potential fishing spots, such as lakes, streams, waterfalls, and swamps. These generally appear as green or blue on the map. Coastlines at the edge of the map are generally darker areas.
  • Deep desert chasms where the player be able to dunefish may also be darkened on the map.
  • Look for map markers such as ferries or landmarks.
  • Inspect the Fishing Log map. While fishing holes are not distributed evenly across each map, a large section of a map with no discovered holes may be a good area to explore.

Zone Exploration

  • Explore on foot. When approaching a fishing hole, the Cast action will become active.
  • While exploring a map, watch for other players and even NPCs who may be fishing!
  • Investigate large bodies of water multiple times. Long coastlines, rivers, and chasms may have multiple fishing spots along the area they cover. Islands in these locations may also be separate fishing spots.

Patience*

While many holes can be discovered easily by following the steps above, others can be considerably more challenging.

  • Many fishing holes are not detectable on the map, such as those located in caves.
  • Some spots may be very small, with a few as small as a puddle.
  • Skyfishing and Dunefishing holes can be particularly difficult to find; these spots are usually located in deep canyons at the edge of the map.
  • Patient players may still be able to locate all the holes in a zone with careful exploration and observation.

*The old-fashioned kind, not Patience!
