Description

Being devoured whole far from spells the end of this grizzled crayfish. A handful of travelers have reported witnessing the stomach-churning sight of a chirurgeon cutting its way out of a hapless, very much living eft's stomach.

Strategy

The Chirurgeon is available all day, in all weather conditions. This fish is caught by using   Mooch from a   Striped Goby, which requires Fisher level 25. Other actions available at higher levels will make catching this fish somewhat easier.

Catch a   Striped Goby by fishing at The Vein in Central Shroud.

• The Striped Goby's favored bait is   Moth Pupa, which has its highest best bite rate (46%). Two other fish will bite on this bait, Crayfish (42%) and Eunuch Crayfish (9%). All three of these fish have (!) bites.
• If one of the other fish (Crayfish or Eunish Crayfish) is caught, the fisher can use   Surface Slap to temporarily eliminate that fish from the list of available fish. Slapping Crayfish greatly increases the odds that the next caught fish will be a Striped Goby.

Use the mooched Striped Goby to catch Chirurgeon.

• In order to   Mooch a caught Striped Goby, it will need to be a large-sized specimen (which happens at random).
  • Fishers may use   Mooch II to mooch normal-sized specimens (with a 3-minute cooldown).
  • Fishers may use   Prize Catch before casting their line to guarantee that the next catch will be large-sized (and thus be eligible for mooching).
• Chirurgeon has a (!!!) bite, and has a bite rate slightly less than half from the mooch. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to improve these odds.
