— In-game description

Rage is an action unlocked at level 1. It is available for Phantom Berserker.

  • Enhanced Rage (Lv. 3) - Grants the effect of Pent-up Rage, increasing the potency of Deadly Blow based on the amount of damage you have taken while the effect is active.

Notes

  • When using this action, the user will be unable to be controlled and will emit a persistent frontal conal AoE (Enraged Strike) with a radius of 3 yalms, dealing damage to any enemies in its range. They will automatically follow their target to be in range. As such, the user will not be able to freely dodge avoidable AoEs so should plan ahead before using.
    • If in range of their target, the user will perform up to six Enraged Strikes during the duration of Rage, or up to 900 potency total. However, the user will be unable to use weaponskills, spells, abilities, and autoattacks during Rage.
    • Abilities, buffs, and traits that reduce GCD time or autoattack delay as well as the Skill Speed stat or the Delay stat on the user's Main Hand do not affect the rate of Enraged Strikes.
  • Though not stated in the tooltip, Pent-up Rage lasts for 15 seconds. You must use Deadly Blow while Pent-up Rage is active in order to get the damage boost (i.e. within 5 seconds of Rage ending).
  • Enraged Strike does not have an animation except for the player's auto-attack.
  • This action makes the user immune to forced movement statuses such as Seduced or Hysteria, which is useful in certain situations:
  • The follow-up Deadly Blow can inflict up to millions of damage if the user deliberately takes lethal damage in certain situations, such as overlapping all three Occult Chisel tankbusters in the Demon Tablet encounter. To prevent death in these situations, the player will need to use an action that prevents their HP from going beneath 1, such as Holmgang or Living Dead on warrior or dark knight, respectively. The other tank invulnerability cooldowns ( Hallowed Ground and Superbolide) prevent damage taken at all and therefore are ineffective at increasing Deadly Blow's damage. If the user is on a different job than warrior or dark knight, they will need to coordinate with a Phantom Oracle to use Invulnerability on them.
