Notes

• This action is Phantom Gladiator's core mechanic and requires the user to take damage when it is active to empower Finisher, increasing the chance it delivers a higher-potency attack and decreasing its chance to miss.
• Use this action when you are about take damage within the next 5 seconds, ideally multiple instances of damage because each instance will increase Finishing Fervor stacks by 1.
• Prior to Critical Encounters, you can prepare 4 stacks by pulling a few enemies before the arena closes and allowing them to auto-attack you with Defend active.
• Use this action immediately after it goes off cooldown and you are about to take damage, or you will lose stacks of Finishing Fervor.
• The Finishing Fervor buff last 2 minutes, so you generally have plenty of time to refresh the buff before it expires.
• This action is similar to geomancer's Battle Bell but can only be used on yourself and only augments one other phantom action, not overall damage dealt.
  • This action shares a recast timer with Battle Bell when switching Phantom Jobs.
  • To prepare both Defend and Battle Bell prior to a Critical Encounter, use Battle Bell on yourself first due to its longer duration, switch to Phantom Gladiator and wait for Defend to come off cooldown, then pull enemies and use Defend.
• If this action is on cooldown due to using an action that shares a cooldown with it (such as Battle Bell), you will not lose stacks of Finishing Fervor when taking damage.
