Custom Deliveries for Adkiragh were introduced in patch 4.5.
About
The mysterious Adkiragh, illustrious proprietor of the Hard Place, has found himself on a proverbial precipice, and only by your custom deliveries can he make his way back from the brink. Those who contribute to his cause will not only earn special rewards, but permission to coordinate his attire besides. Will the visage behind the mask finally be revealed? There is only one way to find out!
Quests
Items
Upon reaching maximum satisfaction level, the player is able to glamour Adkiragh's outfit.
Rewards
Completing deliveries will give the player
Purple Crafters' Scrips or
Purple Gatherers' Scrips along with
Experience and a small amount of
Gil.
To deliver items, players need to be a Disciple of the Hand or Land at level 66+. The client's satisfaction level will also increase.
- Items with a higher collectability will earn greater gil and scrip rewards.
- The satisfaction gain is fixed, as long as the item meets the minimum collectability requirement.
EXP gain scales according to the player's current level, but it does not increase with higher collectability.
The rewards given vary by the NPC's satisfaction level at the time of the delivery.
(Note: Orange scrip yields changed as of Patch 7.51. It seems that old NPCs' yields were raised to the new NPC yield, and the actual newest NPC (Tiisol Ja) has an even higher yield than that. Estimated but unconfirmed data is marked with asterisks.)

Dialogue
Come,
Forename, let us be about the business of bringing the Hard Place back from the financial brink.
The Ishgardians may be prim and proper to a fault, but by the same token they boast rich traditions. These essentials embody that, and their exquisite ornamentation promises to enhance the enjoyment of our Ishgardian cuisine.
In a frozen land such as Ishgard, 'tis hardly surprising that stews cooked over an open fire are popular fare. With this, we can kindle a cookfire of an intensity ideal for making such dishes.
Ah, a truly fine specimen of northern oyster, heavy with succulent flesh. We must see this to our diners while it is still fresh!
On Satisfaction Level 1 Completion
Thanks to you, we have everything we require. The time is come to put our new menu to the proof. Azim as my witness, we will restore the Hard Place to its former glory!

Start of cutscene.
You'll be pleased to hear that our Ishgardian dishes have proven tremendously popular with our regular patrons. They're so impressed, in fact, they all go off promising to spread the word. Little by little, we're regaining the custom we once enjoyed.
Thank you for your patronage! We look forward to your next visit!
You really are a natural at this. But...er, don't you think it's about time you shed with that outfit?
Well, there's no guarantee that my pursuers won't return. Besides, I quite enjoy dressing like Master Adkiragh!
(It should have been meeeeee!)
Mistress Mapopo, I have been meaning to ask─how long have you been working at the Hard Place?
How long? Why, only as long as it's existed!
I used to be a treasure hunter, you see. But one day, I ran afoul of a terrible fiend. It would've made a meal of me had the chief not chanced to be nearby. Ahhh, I'll never forget the sight of him standing over the creature's bloody corpse... So majestic, so dreamy...
A-Anyway! The chief saved my life that day. And I've been at his side ever since.
Oh, my! To think that Master Adkiragh is a skilled warrior as well! Is there nothing he cannot do?
Well, 'twas not for naught that I was favored to become khan of the largest tribe on the Steppe. Next to my brilliance, that self-proclaimed Sun would appear as a pallid candle! Hah hah hah...hah?
Khan? Largest tribe on the Steppe?
Uwaaah! P-Pay me no mind! 'Twas but idle musing, nothing more!
<sigh> You always do that, chief. If you don't want to talk about something, you shouldn't bring up the subject.
E-Enough talk! Everyone, return to your duties!
Adkiragh is pleased with your efforts. He now considers you a Friend of the Hard Place!
And yet there is still much work to be done if the Hard Place is to not only survive, but thrive as well. To that end, Adkiragh has a new favor to ask of you...
Forename, I was wondering when you'd come by again.
I have a proposal I'd like to run by you and the chief.
You see, after Melodie came to us, I found I had a little more spare time. So I started learning some alchemy from the goblins, and I've gotten as far as being able to make a simple distiller.
That gave me an idea: what if we were to make a house spirit to serve to our patrons?
Hmmm, the Hard Place's very own drop... I do like the sound of that. And if we are to reverse our fortunes, we must not shy from a challenge. Yes, let us undertake this endeavor!
Once again, we must rely on your help, my friend. Will you procure for us the items we need to make our own spirit?
That's the spirit! Pun shamelessly intended!

Welcome,
Forename, welcome! This hall has regained some of its former liveliness, and it is in no small part due to your efforts.
Hmmm, a marvelous fragrance. The produce of this land is ideal for brewing a fine spirit─one that shan't punish revelers the morrow after. Such a beverage is certain to win over our patrons.
Using a material with superior heat conducting properties such as this, we can expect wonderful flavors to develop during the aging process. I can scarcely wait to sample the results!
Well now, if this isn't used to make seaweed tonic. Such a beverage may prove too exotic for most, but 'tis undoubtedly in the character of the Hard Place to offer such unusual items.

Thanks to you, our very own house spirit is now ready to be served. I must confess to feeling somewhat nervous, as if I were sending my child into his first battle. Not that I have any children, of course!

Start of cutscene.
Glad tidings, my friend─our house spirit is enjoying unprecedented popularity! Mapopo is beside herself with joy!
At long last, we made it... Gods, please let him be here...
He will be! He must, after all that we've been through...
Alghu? Teleboge? What are you two doing here!?"
That voice! It could only be...
Chief! It's you! It's really you!
Hmmm...
Forename, I believe you can be trusted with my secret.
Be not astonished, but the chief was once poised to become khan. Not just any khan, mind you, but that of the largest tribe on all the Steppe─the Adarkim.
But with great standing comes great risk, and after eight assassination attempts and four sham marriages, he abruptly disappeared with nary a word.
We two are sworn to serve the chief till death. Thus did we set out in search of him. First we scoured the length and breadth of the Steppe, but when we failed to find him there, we decided to venture farther afield. And after a grueling journey during which we were runaways, stowaways, and castaways in turn, we finally arrived here.
H-How can this be? How can you learn the truth of my illustrious identity and not be surprised? Impressed?
What will you say?
I met your brother on the Steppe.
You met my brother? And he's searching for me, you say? That is...not wholly unexpected.
I don't pry into people's past.
Hm-hmmm. As a roaming soul yourself, you understand─as do the people of Idyllshire. Here, what matters is not your past, but what you do for the settlement's future.
Now, you two─how did you know to find me here?
Well, chief, many adventurers come through Reunion these days. Through them, we heard tell of a tavern far to the west. Imagine our surprise when we learned that the proprietor was a man named Adkiragh!
Ugh, that my whereabouts should be exposed in such a manner... Well, 'tis unlikely that any would-be assassins would follow me all this way.
We did have one doubt, however. If you'd go so far as to conceal your face, why in the world would you go by your true name?
But lo and behold, it really was you. We're quite baffled, to be honest.
A-Ahem! Such trifling details aside, you must not tell the others of this. It would not do to cause unnecessary concern.
Adkiragh is delighted with your efforts. He now considers you a Supporter of the Hard Place!
And yet there is still much work to be done if the Hard Place is to not only survive, but thrive as well. To that end, Adkiragh has a new favor to ask of you...
For as long as we can remember, the chief has always hidden his true identity to others. It's unheard of for him to trust an outsider.
Forename has earned my trust thrice over. It is by virtue of
her/his help that this tavern still exists, and if you two mean to remain here, then I expect you to make a contribution as well.
Well then, chief, I have an idea. A new type of buuz invented by the Mol has been popular of late. With your permission, we'll return to the Steppe to learn the secrets of its making.
Ah, yes, the one with the new filling. While we're there, we can gather the ingredients as well so we can make it here!
Oh, and worry not, chief─we'll take care not to be seen by our tribesmen."
While the idea is sound, I have my doubts about their ability to carry it out. I would feel much more at ease if you were to assist them.
Dependable as always. We are so close to becoming profitable again; let us not lose our momentum. Go forth, my friend, and bring us the ingredients for making this new buuz!
End of cutscene.

Well, well, if it isn't
Forename! For your contributions towards keeping the Hard Place in a good place, you have my heartfelt gratitude.
Great buuz requires great ingredients. With what you have brought, I can make buuz the equal of any found in my homeland, the dough irresistibly fluffy and the filling tantalizingly succulent.
While the use of spices is limited in my native cuisine, a good businessman knows to adapt to his patrons. By offering buuz seasoned with this spice, we can speak to the palates of more of Idyllshire's diverse visitors.
Look at these bright eyes and shiny scales! With some preparation to remove the muddy flavor, this chakrafish will cook up to be a most delectable morsel. A fine substitute for dzo, the meat of choice back home.
On Satisfaction Level 3 Completion
Thanks to you, we're now ready to offer our special buuz. Our patrons are bound to love this variation on the traditional recipe. I must hand it to the Mol─it never would have occurred to me to use catfish in the filling.

Start of cutscene.
People are coming from near and far for our special buuz. This would not have been possible without you to supply the ingredients─and my illustrious self to make the mouthwatering stuff, of course!
But to another matter. There is something with which I require your...discreet assistance. Recently, Melodie claims to have seen a Xaela man here in Idyllshire. By her judgment, he did not appear to be an adventurer.
I have an ill foreboding about this individual, and I need you to investigate. I would do the deed myself, but I have my hands full with orders for buuz.
To begin with, I suggest you speak with Melodie. Do not delay─the continued survival of the Hard Place may well be at stake!
Adkiragh is overjoyed with your efforts. He now considers you a Cornerstone of the Hard Place!
A new quest continuing the story of the Hard Place's financial fortunes is now available from Melodie. Upon its completion, the Custom Deliveries list for Adkiragh will be updated.

Forename, ever a sight for sore piggy eyes. Thanks to you, I scarcely have a moment's rest! Rest assured that's a good thing!
For a space to be conducive to relaxation, all of its furnishings must be in harmony, and you have clearly taken this tenet to heart. A furnishing such as this will help to ensure that the Hard Place is our patrons' home away from home.
Even in simple things such as materials for furnishings, you do not compromise. And indeed, we must not compromise where it concerns the satisfaction of our patrons.
Well, well, if this isn't a wicked wartfish I see! You've done well to reel in such a rare─and usable─fish. Not only is its flesh good for eating; being relatively odorless, its oil is also ideal for use as fuel.
On Satisfaction Level 4 Completion
Thanks to you, we've amassed a fine selection of furnishings. By ensuring that the Hard Place is well appointed, we can keep our patrons comfortable. And a comfortable patron is a happy patron!

Start of cutscene.
With your furnishings adorning this hall, we've been attracting new patrons not only with our food, but with our ambience as well. The result being we are doing better business than we have in many moons!
Which leads me to my next piece of news...
Finally,
Forename─finally, we are profitable once more! Such a stellar recovery, we couldn't have achieved without you. I knew I was right to place my faith in you, my friend. Truly, I never cease to amaze myself with my powers of judgment.
Master Adkiragh! Lest you forget,
Forename is Zhloe's supplier first and foremost!
...Heh heh, just kidding! By saving the Hard Place, you saved the orphanage as well. Now I can sleep at night again without having to count flatbread, which wasn't that helpful anyway because I'd run out at about five pieces.
Ah, but seeing Master Adkiragh's success has inspired Zhloe to redouble her efforts. Which is to say
you have to redouble your efforts,
Forename─for the children!"
Allow me to express my gratitude too, adventurer. With the Hard Place prosperin' again, your fellow adventurers're startin' to return to Idyllshire.
As a woman of the House and a citizen of Idyllshire both─thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
I have experienced many and more hardships in my life, but this one alone, I do not think I could have overcome without your help.
The Hard Place is more than just a tavern. It is the only home the children of the orphanage know, and a place where dreamers of all walks may gather to rest away their cares.
That this place could be all of these things is because you and other kind souls have reached out a helping hand to this piggy. For that, I give you my heartfelt thanks.
Now, come, my friend! Let us keep up our great work!
Adkiragh could not be happier with your efforts. He now considers you a Savior of the Hard Place!
Through your efforts, the Hard Place has managed to turn its financial fortunes around. It seems, however, that Adkiragh has a different sort of favor to ask of you...
There is something I wish to speak with you about.
When first I came to Eorzea, an outsider without a gil to his name, Idyllshire was the only place that welcomed me.
The Ishgardians, for instance, judged me solely by my appearance, looking me up and down before turning me away. So much for “civilized” peoples, I thought.
My own tribe is no better. The Adarkim are ever racked by internal feuds, rivals trying to get the better of one another. The idiocy of it all left me bitter and jaded.
But this town restored my faith in my fellow man. Here, folk of all races and walks of life live together in harmony, joining hands in common cause. Fondly do I remember when I first set about establishing the Hard Place. One after the next, my neighbors came and offered me unsolicited help.
They've done me a good turn. It's only fair that I return the favor. This I mean to do by making the Hard Place the best place it can be.
A place where folk can relax and eat their fill. Where they can raise their cups in good times and in bad. Where they can chatter about everything and nothing until the break of dawn.
Everything that Idyllshire has given me, I intend to give back and more. To that end, I hope that I can continue to rely on your help.
...What's that? You wonder why I still wear my disguise, though there is no longer a need to hide? Well, by now it has become a part of my identity. My brand, if you will.
That being said, as a businessman, I'm well aware of the import of staying abreast of prevailing trends. Moreover, I'm ever on the lookout for opportunities to broaden my horizons.
Therefore, I give you permission to use glamour prisms upon me. With your surpassing fashion sense, give me an appearance that you think will speak to our clientele!
End of cutscene.
Future requests will be selected at random from all those you have seen thus far, with the list refreshed once a week (Earth time).
You may review the items currently in demand at any time by speaking with Adkiragh and selecting Make a delivery.
Furthermore, Adkiragh's appearance may now be altered through the use of glamours.
Ah,
Forename, my most dependable partner. What brings you here today? Have you a delivery to make? Perhaps new garb for yours truly to try? Whichever it is, it does me well to see you.
Distilled from fermented mare's milk, arkhi is a popular─and potent─spirit in my homeland, and an essential part of any celebration. With this, we may look forward to much merrymaking here in Idyllshire!
A batch of arkhi is only as good as its vat, and with such fine materials, we can expect our brews to come out exactly as we intended. 'Tis well worth the additional effort!
Oho, this salmon is far from home indeed, a kindred spirit to yours truly! Whether sliced up and served raw or rubbed in salt and grilled over charcoal, it makes a most toothsome accompaniment to spirits.
If the collectability rating is low
Now then, let me examine it by the light... Yes, the quality is more than adequate. Our patrons will have no cause for complaint.
If the collectability rating is mid-range
Now then, let me examine it by the light... Hmmm, yes, there is no faulting the quality. You never cease to impress me with your work, my friend.
If the collectability rating is high
Now then, let me examine it by the light... By Azim, the quality is transcendent! The manifestation of an ideal I did not think existed! You, my friend, are a miracle worker!
Now then, let me examine it by the light... Yes, the quality is above reproach, befitting the opulence that the Hard Place endeavors to deliver. Very well done!
Now then, let me examine it by the light... Oho! In a word, the quality is superb! I'm thoroughly impressed, and I've no doubt that our patrons will be too!
Upon reaching weekly limit

Start of cutscene.
Many thanks for your many deliveries, my friend.
Truly, you are skilled at what you do─and truly, I have a keen eye for skill.
End of cutscene.

Start of cutscene.
I would swear, no sooner do you make a delivery than you reappear to make another. Your work ethic is astounding, my friend, and the Hard Place is better for it.
We're seeing more patrons than ever before, and you can take credit for this achievement. Well, some of it at any rate. It wouldn't be fair to attribute all of this to you, now, would it?
End of cutscene.

Start of cutscene.
Owing to your unflagging effort, the Hard Place continues to do brisk business.
And yet, while I appreciate your dedication to our cause, I would not deny your talents to others. As a khan must give satisfaction to many women, so too should you apply yourself for the good of many.
But even the most tireless among us need rest. Whenever the rigors of life take their toll, you may always return here─to bask in the restorative presence of yours truly.
End of cutscene.

Start of cutscene.
My thanks again for contributing to the cause.
...Hm? I see you are burning to ask me about my attire. Come now, there's no use trying to hide it─your eyes all but say, “Such an amazing tale it must have been that saw him take up the swine head!”
Well, my friend, before I came to this town, I whiled away some of my idle time at the Gold Saucer. One of the attendants─a rather ravishing wench─said that the sleepy eyes and droopy ears would suit me well. And the rest, as they say, is history.
End of cutscene.

Start of cutscene.
My thanks for today's contribution.
...Hm? Come now, do not be coy. You are dying to know how I obtained the funds to open this place.
Well, it will come as no surprise that I am a peerless hunter, and the fiends of this land are as timid livestock to me. By taking on odd jobs, be it procuring materials or escorting the elderly, I amassed enough to get my start.
End of cutscene.

Start of cutscene.
On behalf of all of the staff, I want to thank you for your tremendous contributions to our cause.
To think on it, had the Hard Place not been threatened with closure, our paths may never have crossed. Life truly is filled with twists and turns.
Forename, naught gives me more joy than to see the fruits of your labor bringing happiness to our patrons.
That is when I feel most keenly that we are making a difference in this town. Then the tears well up unbidden, and I─
...Hah! The illustrious Adkiragh, entrepreneur of steel, shedding tears? The mere suggestion is laughable! Hah hah hah!
End of cutscene.
I suggest you first speak with Melodie. Do not delay─the continued survival of the Hard Place may well be at stake!
In order to undertake the next quest, speak with Melodie at the Hard Place as a Disciple of the Hand or the Land.
