Spell Speed

Affects both the casting and recast timers for spells (but not abilities or weaponskills). The higher the value, the shorter the global cooldown timer. Also affects a spell's damage over time or healing over time potency.

While higher Spell Speed is a DPS improvement, the reduced recast times can interfere with the alignment of the player's rotation with the 2-minute raid buffs and burst damage. That being the case, Spell Speed is increased until a desired recast time is reached, and then further Spell Speed is strictly avoided. The lack of effect on abilities also renders the attribute less useful for jobs that rely heavily on them.
