Tenacity

Tenacity is a secondary attribute that affects the amount of physical and magical damage dealt and received, as well as HP restored. The higher the value, the more damage dealt, the more HP restored, and the less damage taken. Only applicable when role is
Tank.
Generally, Tenacity is considered an undesirable attribute, as its defensive properties are not necessary if a tank uses their damage mitigation actions properly; and other substats such as Critical Hit and Direct Hit Rate provide superior damage output. As a result, materia melds and best-in-slot gear tend to avoid Tenacity when possible.
History
Tenacity replaced Parry in Patch 4.0 with the release of Stormblood.
