Precision Hookset is one of two actions used to catch fish while using Patience and Patience II, which both give the Ineffecient Hooking status (reducing the chance to catch fish through the hooking actions). This action ignores the penalty from the status when used on fish with "weak jaws" or "weak bites."
When a fisher has a "weak-jawed" fish on the line, ! will display above the fisher's head as shown in the left image below.
Additionally, some !!! bites will also be from weak-jawed fish - but not all of them are! It is recommended that fishers check listings on the wiki or other guides to determine whether the available ferocious bites are for "weak-jawed" or "strong-jawed" fish.
