These occupants of the eighth rung of twelve will use masks as vessels for transfer into this realm, giving them a hauntingly man-like appearance. Personae are believed to have appeared long throughout history, as is evidenced by their appearance in the traditional Gridanian play The Man Without a Face-a tragedy that tells of a lonely creature which consumes but half a man's soul so that it might use that life energy to change the static expression of its mask.
