Oblivion is a resistance movement in Yyasulani.

About

Goal

The group's first goal was to oppose Preservation. Followed by this, they worked to stop the fusion of Alexandria on the Ninth and Yyasulani on the Source. Later on, the organization regains their first goal of opposing Preservation.

Headquarters

The primary headquarters is in Heritage Found initially.

Another outpost is in the The Backroom in Solution 9, which later becomes the primary headquarters of Oblivion.

Leader

Originally founded by Robor and Alayla, and later led by Cahciua, the current de-facto leader of the organization is Shale.[1]

History

Oblivion was founded by Milallas Robor and Alayla after they defected from Preservation when they learned what the collective attempted to achieve by interdimensional fusion: to steal aether from the Source and other reflections in order to maintain and create more Endless, simulacrums of the deceased Alexandrians created from their memories. Robor and Alayla erased all knowledge about themselves, since Preservation was on their trail, as they had spirited away the key to interdimensional travel to the Source. Even the members of Oblivion didn't know their names.[2]

Without its founders, Oblivion effectively ceased to exist until the First Promise of Tuliyollal, Zoraal Ja, stole the key and used it to enter the Ninth, becoming King of Resolve of Alexandria, he and the Queen of Reason, Endless Sphene, now had the means of initiating interdimensional fusion. They fused Everkeep and the nearby region with Yyasulani in Xak Tural. At some point after the event, Cahciua, who was among those trapped in the dome and died during the three decades of isolation and subsequently converted into an Endless, encountered a pair of drunken patrons who just finished a brawl with the Outrunner she uses to interact with Alexandria's living populace. Together she, along with the patrons Geode and Shale, discovered Oblivion's original headquarters in Solution Nine, the Backroom, and founded a new incarnation of the organization based on old documents found within. This Oblivion continued opposing Preservation like its predecessor, while also having a new goal of opposing Zoraal Ja. They mainly consisted of members who opposed the usage of soul regulators, instead favoring the natural way of life and not forgetting those who had passed away.[1]

Story

Alongside Otis, members of Oblivion serve as primary caretakers of Gulool Ja.

They could do nothing to prevent Zoraal Ja from invading his homeland, Tuliyollal. They eventually joined forces with the Vow of Resolve of Tuliyollal, Wuk Lamat, as well as the Warrior of Light and their companions from the Scions of the Seventh Dawn against Zoraal Ja.

Zoraal Ja, with aid from Endless Sphene jamming communications, captured Wayakkwe while she was stationed at Vanguard, using her to lure out Wuk Lamat for a confrontation.[3]

In the following crises, including attacks on the citizenry by Alexandria's automaton army, Oblivion organized armed resistance and protected the people.[3]

The organization facilitated the assault on Origenics by providing transport, detailed schematics of Everkeep, and communications.[4][5] They also facilitated access to The Underkeep, though their communications were cut off early into the mission.[6] During the battle with Necron, Oblivion was able to provide Sphene with access to speak to all of Alexandria, allowing for her message of hope to turn the tide of the battle.[7]

Despite Oblivions best efforts, they sustained casualties during the second and third automatan attack by Calyx on the citizenry of Alexandria. Due to the disarmament of the automaton sentries, they have overtaken the duties of patrolling and defending Alexandria while also keeping a watchful eye on the automatons that remain armed due to necessity.[8][9][1]

With the end of Calyx and leadership of the true Sphene alongside Gulool Ja established, Oblivion has seen the end of a years-long struggle. Their purpose now fulfilled, rather than disbanding, Oblivion has transitioned towards serving the Queen of Reason and King of Resolve.[10]

Lore

A resistance organization first established during the time of old Alexandria. Its founders were Krile's parents, Robor and Alayla, former members of Preservation who opposed Calyx's plan to invade other worlds. Once the then-infant Krile was targeted for experimentation, the researcher couple seized the key to interdimensional fusion and used it to deliver both the artifact and their child to the Source to keep them safe from the enemy. They vanished from record thereafter, with their Endless incarnations later encountered in Living Memory.

Deprived of their founders, Oblivion effectively ceased to be — until decades later when its secret headquarters, now known as the Backroom, was discovered by Cahciua and her followers. Although detailed information pertaining to the key had been erased, Cahciua, strongly believing in Oblivion's purpose, reestablished the organization under its original name. With the Yyasulani native at the helm, its members set out to thwart King of Resolve Zoraal Ja's ambitions for conquest.
