Lore
A Shetona of the Yyasulani region of Tural, Cahciua is the loving mother and demanding mentor both of Elene'shpya, also known as Erenville. While raising Erenville, she set her child the task of discovering the legendary city of gold ere she would consider his tutelage complete.[1]
Caught within the Dome over Yyasulani upon its creation, her Shetona beliefs about the importance of the cycle of life and death led her to reject the use of a regulator and oppose the rule of Zoraal Ja. She began taking interest in recruiting Shale, meeting the woman in a back alley of True Vue. In trying to recruit Shale, Cahciua became a regular visitor at her workplace. During these visits Cahciua would tell Shale of past adventures, the world beyond the barrier, and her son Elene'shpya. The two would form a bond over these visits, until eventually Shale agreed to join Cahciua. Cahciua however did not initially disclose her goal to oppose Zoraal Ja, rather seeking Shale's assistance in constructing a large transmitter in Earthen Sky. During this time, Cahciua would attempt to convince Shale to abandon the use of her regulator, but did not succeed in convincing her.[2]
After Cahciua returned injured, having run afoul of a mechanical sentry, Shale demanded she be made a fully fledged accomplice. Cahciua was unable to deny Shale, and revealed to the eldite woman her plan to put a stop to Zoraal Ja. Cahciua however only allowed Shale to assist from afar while she conducted reconnaissance herself. During a solo reconnaissance mission to scout out a route to the private residence of Zoraal Ja, Cahciua felt Shale's unease and equipped a regulator in order to reassure her. She also expressed an interest in recruiting more allies to their cause. The signal from Cahciua's regulator disappeared mere hours later, and her memory was wiped from Shale's mind, confirming her passing away.[2]
As an Endless residing in Living Memory, Cahciua did not give up on resisting Zoraal Ja's rule and opposing the creation of Endless. She would use an outrunner to reconnect herself to Alexandria remotely. Cahciua formed bonds once more with Shale and Geode after breaking a fight between the two of them up and recruiting them to fight for a just cause. Intriguied by her ideas, Shale and Geode joined her. Cahciua suspected that another resistance existed, and thanks to Shale's talent in hacking they found traces of unauthorized access in the Backroom of the Neon Stein. Once they opened it, they realized it had been long abandoned. They found records of a group called "Oblivion", and decided to carry on it's legacy.[3]
As the leader of Oblivion, Cahciua continued to expand the resistance movement and oppose Zoraal ja's rule. Ultimately, however, there was little Oblivion could do to effectively stop the King of Resolve. When the Warrior of Light arrived in the Dome after the events of Vanguard however, Cahciua took an interest in them and sought their aid. She would encounter Erenville once more, disclosing that it was her to him and happy to be reunited with her now grown son. She did not however, reveal that she was an Endless and had already passed away for some time already.[4][5]
Cahciua guided Oblivion to assist the Warrior of Light during their time in Solution Nine. When Zoraal Ja initiated an attack on the people of Alexandria to harvest their souls, Cahciua not only participated in the defense of Alexandria by treating the wounded, but also assisted in preparing the intelligence to reach and strike Zoraal Ja directly. During the events of Origenics, Cahciua joined the assault in her outrunner, providing assistance and guidance to the team as they made their way to the upper floor of the Everkeep.[6][7]
After the defeat of Zoraal Ja, due to the betrayal of Queen Sphene, Cahciua's drone would have its connection severed. The lack of ability to contact anyone beyond Living Memory seeing her leadership of Oblivion come to an end. With this event, her allies from beyond the Dome and her son Erenville became aware that Cahciua was herself an endless.[8]
Cahciua would later greet the Warrior of Light, Krile, G'raha Tia, Erenville, and Wuk Lamat in Living Memory upon their arrival at Canal Town. Guiding them through the area, she would assist them in shutting down the terminals to bring an end to the Endless. In the end, she insisted to Erenville that he be the one to shut down the terminal that her endless form was residing within. Though Erenville was resistant at first, she reassured and convinced him that this what was she wanted, and that she was proud of the man he had become. With Erenville shutting down the terminal, Cahciua ceased to exist, her ultimate goal of bringing about the end of the Endless and restoring the natural order of life and death complete.[9][10]
Additional Information
As an Endless, Cahciua's original appearance is only seen in Living Memory.
Cahciua will sometimes refer to Erenville as "fussy little bunbun".
