This arcane tome was one of many scribed in the Fifth Astral Era. Broadly translated to "On Ancient Magicks," its title suggests a treatise on sorcerous arts considered old even in that historic age. The island's architect, however, has since transformed the book into a guardian of knowledge, a zealous sentinel armed with forbidden spells to temporarily alter comprehension levels and repel intruders. Yet even unguarded, the plethora of written works found in its vicinity have nevertheless been rendered unreadable by means of magical encryption.
