Level 100 Gear Guide <<
Endgame gear progression will be significantly overhauled in the Evercold expansion. There are two types of upgradeable endgame gear: seasonal gear and raid gear. New seasonal and raid gear will be released at the start of each season (i.e. every even-numbered major patch).

  • Seasonal Gear, the replacement for capped tomestone gear, can be obtained by players of all skill levels through the weekly Adventurer Activity system, involving a wide variety of combat and non-combat activities that players can choose. Seasonal gear item level can be increased once using certain upgrade items. Seasonal gear has 2 materia slots and no advanced melding.
  • Raid Gear can be obtained by high-end players using tokens from 8-player savage raids. Raid gear item level can be increased once with the same tokens during the even patch they are released, and again in the subsequent odd-numbered patch using crafted materials and tokens from 8-player savage alliance raids. Raid gear has customizable secondary attributes. Once upgraded, raid gear also receives 3 advanced materia melding slots, but no guaranteed meld slots. Fully upgrading a set of raid gear will enable a special graphical effect for its weapon.

Gear acquisition and upgrading is done through the Adventurer Activity UI from anywhere and does not require interacting with a specific vendor NPC.
