Embolden grants two different, but identically named buffs: Embolden with a 
Sword icon is granted to the party (including other red mages), but not to the red mage who executed the action themselves. Instead, they receive Embolden with a 
Staff icon, which only increases magic damage (marked with a 
purple staff); red mage has several actions that do not deal magical damage, but 
physical damage instead, and are thus not affected by Embolden:

History
Patch 7.4 (2025-12-16): Increase to own magic damage changed from 5% to 10%.- Patch 7.0 (2024-07-02): The additional effect "Grants Thorned Flourish" has been added with a duration of 30 seconds.
Patch 6.4 (2023-05-23): Effect radius has been increased from 15 to 30 yalms.- Patch 6.0 (2021-12-07):
- Deleted "The effect potency decreases by 20% every 4s".
- Damage increase has been reduced from 10% to 5%.
- Now increases all damage dealt by nearby party members, not just physical damage.
Patch 4.0 (2017-06-20): Added with the original description "Increases own magic damage dealt by 10% and physical damage dealt by nearby party members by 10%. Both effects are reduced by 20% every 4s."
