Dialogue
Optional Dialogue
Zero: It should come as no surprise that Golbez has a means to travel between the moon and the star, of which we may avail ourselves shortly.
Accepting the quest (Cutscene)
| Voiced cutscene | Vrtra: Words cannot well express my relief that we could rescue my sister, nor my gratitude to all of you. Vrtra: What of him? Golbez. Zero: He felt it would be inappropriate for him to be present at your reunion with Azdaja, and chose to remain down in the chasm. Zero: If you wish to hear an apology, however, I should be glad to drag him here. Vrtra: Nay, that shall not be necessary. By his deeds hath he demonstrated his contrition. Estinien: So, what will you do now? Zero: I've learned much journeying together with you. Experienced things I could never have experienced alone. Zero: Together with Golbez, I hope to do the same as we labor to restore the Thirteenth. Estinien: Then I suppose it's farewell for now. Y'shtola: Be sure to share with Golbez what you've learned of the Source and its reflections, as well as the true nature of Light and Dark. Y'shtola: He is as resourceful as he is determined, and will surely make the very most of the insights. Zero: Indeed. Once we've gained a better understanding of the situation, I hope we can rely on your counsel. Y'shtola: But of course. I too shall continue probing new possibilities, the better to be of aid when the time comes. Y'shtola: Ah, speaking of which... Y'shtola: From ocean rise and cloudbank form, From mountain spring and rainfall storm, From river flow and life be born... Y'shtola: Come forth, my servant! Y'shtola: I revised the incantation. Which is not to say you know how it went before... Y'shtola: Are we clear? Y'shtola: Nidhana provided me with spare warding scales, which apparently provide greater protection than before. Y'shtola: This should keep the familiar safe. So long as you give the nixie aether from time to time, it will persist and serve as a beacon for us to find you. Zero: Already we find ourselves with a new ally. Thank you. Zero: When you have the chance, please thank everyone for me. Zero: Those in Radz-at-Han, Garlemald, Sharlayan... Zero: ...the First, and on the moon. Zero: A lengthy list. Zero: A gift for Ryne, in return for the Light she helped me harness. It's the memoria holding Zeromus. Zero: If used to augment Darkness in the First, it may help to create balance between our worlds. Y'shtola: An excellent idea. Y'shtola: Similarly, why not entrust the archfiends' memoria to Zero? Zero: In that case, I shall pass them on to Golbez. To inspire and admonish him in equal measure. What will you say? > I'll see you again, right? Zero: You will, I'm sure. Just don't try to forcibly summon me. I won't come. > The Thirteenth is in good hands. Zero: Come what may, we will see it restored. And should we need a helping hand, I hope we can count on you once more. If you completed the quest "Safekeeping": > You should know about Unukalhai and Cylva... Zero: What? There are others from our world who seek to restore it? Zero: Then please tell them this: though we are worlds apart, in our shared objective, we walk as one. Vrtra: Sad though it is to say farewell, 'tis past time we returned home. Pray climb upon my back. Zero: Till we meet again. Zero: No matter where we are or how much time passes, our bond will endure. This I believe. | Voiced cutscene end |
Optional Dialogue
Urianger: We have awaited your return with bated breath. As should be apparent, naught of note occurred in your absence.
Mappingway: A pity there was no need to employ our combat supporters... Still, everyone is safe, and that's all that matters.
Y'shtola: Urianger and the Loporrits are to be commended for ensuring that the seal held fast.
Estinien: To think this all began with a simple treasure hunt. Gods, I could sleep for a week...
Speak with Livingway near the Drowning Brand. (Cutscene)
Livingway: Oh, welcome back, everyone! While you were away, a rent in the fabric of reality suddenly appeared! Through it, we could observe you locked in furious battle with Zeromus! Livingway: By the time it closed up, we had seen your victory─well done, by the way─but we still couldn't breathe easy until we knew for certain you were safe and sound. And here you are, thank heavens! Livingway: Dare I hope Azdaja is safe too? And Zero? Y'shtola: In a word, yes. Y'shtola: Though we could not return Azdaja to her original form, Vrtra granted her a new vessel using one of his eyes. Her circumstances are unique, but it nevertheless gives me hope that there may be a way to save other voidsent. Y'shtola: As for Zero, she has chosen to remain in her world, and do what she can to restore it. Livingway: Ah, so the light of hope shines again amidst the darkness! Livingway: Hers is an admirable dream, and I pray that she hops and skips her way to making it reality! Mappingway: Perhaps our research into environments capable of supporting life would be of use in the Thirteenth. Livingway: Oho, now there's a thought! Livingway: A day may come when the people of the Source and the Thirteenth work hand in hand. In anticipation of this, we must accumulate even more useful technology! If you are Bloodsworn with the Omicron Society Livingway: And I must inform Jammingway as well! I spy an opportunity for the Last Dregs to expand into the void! Livingway: Ah, but don't let us detain you with our cavalcade of brilliant ideas. We'll see that the gate is closed and the seal deactivated, so go home and get some rest─that includes you, Urianger! Urianger: As thou dost command. Pray convey our gratitude to the watcher for his timely assistance. Y'shtola: 'Twould seem Vrtra is preparing to depart. Come, let us descend to the Tower of Babil. Urianger: Upon arriving in Garlemald, 'twould be meet to inform Jullus of our mission's outcome. Let us seek him out at Tertium.
Optional Dialogue
Livingway: I suppose we'll have to rename our voidsent slaughter-bots now. A shame. The name just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? Still, it was a joy to be of aid to the people of Etheirys again!
Mappingway: Wouldn't it be grand if we could make it possible for people to spend time in the void without protective talismans...
The Watcher: To rekindle Light in the Thirteenth and pave the way for its restoration... The Watcher: Her crystal helped set these events into motion, did it not? Then through you and Zero, She was able to serve a greater purpose one last time.
Alphinaud: Ah, 'tis you. What news of your mission in the void?
Alisaie: The fact you've come all this way can only mean there've been developments. I'm all ears.
Speak with Juullus at Tertium. (Cutscene)
| Voiced cutscene | Jullus: Oh, it's you again. Is everything all right? Alphinaud: So you were able to rescue Azdaja... Thank the Twelve. Alisaie: Channeling Light from the First was rather ingenious. It may fall short of cross-rift travel, but it's still an impressive achievement in my book. Y'shtola: You're too kind. Suffice it to say, though, that I don't intend to rest on these laurels. There's always more to be done. Jullus: Zero stayed in the void, did she? Well...if I had known it would come to that, I would've said a proper farewell. What will you say? > Zero took your words to heart. Jullus: Really...? I don't remember saying anything profound... > Zero sends her thanks. Jullus: Thanks for what? I don't recall doing anything in particular for her. On the contrary, she's the one who risked life and limb. Jullus: Still...I'm glad that she got something out of her time here. Jullus: As the days roll on, things will change for the both of us. Jullus: But some things will remain as they are. Jullus: As far as I'm concerned, Zero will always be a friend and comrade. And I will never forget her. Alisaie: If she's working tirelessly to restore the Thirteenth, it wouldn't do to be outdone here. When next Zero visits, we must see to it that you have a shiny new Garlemald to show her. Jullus: Indeed... And speaking of rebuilding, there's a matter I'd like to discuss with you and Alphinaud. Jullus: Word has spread of our dealings with Radz-at-Han, and people are excited by the prospect of standing on our own two feet again. Naturally, it won't be straightforward─it never is─but on the whole, I have a good feeling about things. Alphinaud: In other words...it may be time for us to limit our involvement, that Garleans might take the lead? I can see the sense in that. Jullus: No, no, that's not what I meant at all. Jullus: Seeing as things are going well, we want you to take a rest. A proper rest. That's what I wanted to say, on everyone's behalf. Jullus: You've done so much for us already. Toiled beside us in the cold for far longer than anyone could ask. Jullus: You've earned a reprieve a hundred times over. So go on, step away from here and head...wherever you like. But if it were me, I'd choose somewhere warm. Alisaie: I was thinking of taking a break anyway... Alphinaud: Far be it from us to go against such a heartfelt request. Though I would be lying were I to say matters here wouldn't weigh on our minds... Alisaie: We could take a leaf out of Zero's book and roam about for a while. Alisaie: Maybe visit nations who share little history with Garlemald─look for opportunities to foster future relations. We might learn something of recent foreign affairs that has escaped our notice. Alphinaud: Hm, as an independent party, we would be well suited to the task... An excellent idea, Alisaie. Jullus: Well, that hardly sounds like a rest at all. Alphinaud: To us, it is the best kind of rest─stimulating and meaningful. Alisaie: If it's settled, then let's return to Sharlayan and consider our options. Alisaie: What about the rest of you? Do you have any plans? Y'shtola: We're indebted to Lord Fourchenault and his colleagues for their cooperation. 'Twould be meet to report on the outcome of our mission. Alphinaud: Then it seems we are all bound for Sharlayan. Upon arriving, let us seek out Atheleys at the Rostra and have her notify Father. | Voiced cutscene end |
Optional Dialogue
Jullus: We insisted that Alphinand and Alisaie take their rest, but you're no less deserving of respite. Jullus: To see you fight so tirelessly for causes greater than yourself, be they here or even in altogether different worlds, there's little wonder why you're revered as a hero. Jullus: Time and again we have witnessed you make the seemingly impossible possible, and it is nothing short of inspiring. Needless to say, we'll be striving to follow your example.
Y'shtola: It cannot be overstated how invaluable Lord Fourchenault's cooperation was. We must thank him profusely.
Estinien: I've lost count of how many times I've come here, but it's apparently enough that the immigration officials no longer interrogate me. Small blessings, eh?
Urianger: Without further ado, let us tend to business.
Alphinaud: Father has many demands on his time, but I should hope he can spare us a moment...
Alisaie: Having been away for so long, it might be nice to stay a while. If only to set Father and Mother's minds at ease.
Speak with Atheleys at the Rostra. (Cutscene)
Atheleys: Wait, aren't you the Scions of the Seventh Dawn? Or were, rather─I understand you've disbanded...? Atheleys: An audience with Lord Fourchenault? You are in luck. The Forum has just this moment adjourned, and he is still inside with the scholarch. Atheleys: Please wait here while I inform them of your presence. Fourchenault: Apologies to have kept you. I trust you won't object if Scholarch Montichaigne also attends. Fourchenault: My incorrigible children... Were you not assisting with Garlemald's reconstruction? Alphinaud: Our hosts were most insistent that we take a rest, so here we are. But more importantly, [Forename] has news that she/he would share with you. Montichaigne: So the threat has passed! These are glad tidings indeed. Fourchenault: Harnessing Light from the First. A technological triumph...that could have ended in catastrophic failure. Fourchenault: But let us not dwell on hypotheticals. Fourchenault: Like the aether from the Isle of Haam, you employed the Light for peaceful─albeit unanticipated─purposes. Fourchenault: “Knowledge exists to serve the greater good,” as my father was fond of saying. I'm inclined to agree─in this instance. Montichaigne: It has been established that world-ending crises in the reflections are connected to calamities in the Source. Montichaigne: As such, the strides you made in understanding the nature of and effecting a change in a reflection may one day prove vital for mankind's preservation. Montichaigne: The Forum will be eager to review your accounts thoroughly, for every drop of water serves to swell the great river of knowledge. Montichaigne: Might we prevail upon you to prepare a comprehensive report, Y'shtola? On the subjects of the void and cross-rift travel both. Y'shtola: It would be my pleasure. Fourchenault: We will share these tidings with those who aided you─Kokkol Dankkol not least of all. Now, if you'll excuse us, we must be on our way. Fourchenault: I should be glad to speak with you both later.
