Archon and Studium scholarch, this seventy-four-year-old Elezen academic is responsible for establishing and codifying a host of arcane techniques—and many magicks have become considerably safer to cast as a result. Montichaigne is a remarkable mage in his own right, skilled at exceedingly delicate manipulations of aether. He is known for teaching his pupils with the aid of floating implements, but it is his effortless ability to control their every movement without need of wand or staff that truly sets his talents apart. Managing to maintain friendships with controversial Sharlayans such as Louisoix, Matoya, and Galuf while remaining firmly ensconced in the Forum is also testament to his social and political acumen.
