Lore

"Aid, ser knight! I know not their grievance, but these lowborn ruffians seek to cause me harm!"

An Elezen baroness of forty-two summers born with uncommon magical powers, she believes her gift to be a clear sign of the inherent superiority of the highborn. After graduating from Saint Endalim’s Scholasticate with high honors, Melisie joined the Inquisition, where she distinguished herself to the degree that she was talked about as a prime candidate to someday assume the post of Chief Inquisitor. She later gave in to her family’s wishes, however, and was wed to the lord of House Ghivains—whose title she would inherit when he passed away under mysterious circumstances a short few years later. Taking advantage of her numerous friends in high places, she proceeded to secure a place for herself in the highest ranks of the nobility. Feeling her status threatened by the growing revolution, she joined together with the conservative factions and formulated a plan to quash the uprising once and for all. Rumors that she lulls herself to sleep each night with the screams of heretics are unsubstantiated.
