It has recently been discovered that this substance of unknown origin has the faculty to assimilate with other forms of matter, effectively restoring them to their original condition. This specific grade of dark matter has been shown to bond best with precisely crafted items made from high-quality materials.

Historical
Dark Matter replaced item-specific repair materials with Patch 1.18 of Legacy. Prior to this, a particular crafting material was needed depending on what kind of material the gear was predominantly made from, for example: Bone Hora required a Bone Chip to be repaired. The repair process also had a percentage chance of failure at the time.
