Fugetsu (buff)

Fugetsu is a beneficial status effect that 
samurai apply to themselves. It increases their damage dealt by 10%. Once the Enhanced Fugetsu and Fuka trait is unlocked at level 78, this damage bonus is increased to 13%.
There are two actions that can apply Fugetsu. Both actions grant Fugetsu for 40 seconds:

Gameplay
All applications of Fugetsu give 40 seconds. Further applications that would overcap this timer will be capped at 40 seconds. It is highly recommended to always have this status effect active, or refresh it as soon as possible after 
Fuka, with the exception of the standard samurai opener. Through normal gameplay and full up-time, it is nearly impossible to lose this status effect.
If the samurai is under the effect of 
Meikyo Shisui, Fugetsu can also be applied by Gekko.
History
Patch 7.0 (2024-07-02):
Patch 6.0 (2021-12-07):
- The Jinpu status effect has been changed to Fugetsu.
- Mangetsu is now a combo action after Fuko at level 82 instead of Fuga. Mangetsu also now grants Fugetsu for 40 seconds, instead of Jinpu for 15 seconds.
- Meikyo Shisui now allows for Gekko to apply Fugetsu.
Patch 5.0 (2019-07-02):
- Increase to damage dealt has been changed from 10% to 13% upon learning the Enhanced Jinpu and Shifu trait (now Enhanced Fugetsu and Fuka).
- Mangetsu now increases the duration of Jinpu by 15 seconds, but cannot apply it.
Patch 4.0 (2017-06-20):
- Added as "Jinpu". Jinpu was received by the eponymous Jinpu weaponskill.
Trivia
Fugetsu (浮月・ふげつ) translates to "floating moon".
