Increases block rate by 100% and creates a designated area in a cone behind you in which party members will only suffer 85% of all damage inflicted.
Duration: 18s
Effect ends upon using another action or moving (including facing a different direction).
Cancels auto-attack upon execution.— In-game description
Passage of Arms is an action unlocked by questing at level 70. It is available for Paladin.
Notes
- Ironically, this action can be executed without a shield equipped. Because a shield is required to block attacks, paladins will not block any attacks while channelling this action.
- This action grants two beneficial status effects:
- Passage of Arms: Granted for 18 seconds. It is the amount of time paladins may channel their wings for. Upon moving, executing another action, or turning, this effect immediately ends.
- Arms Up: Granted immediately for approximately 3-5 seconds. The exact duration is unlisted. It reduces damage taken by 15%. It is reapplied every server tick (three seconds) when present within the wings, if the wings are being channelled.
Gameplay
- It is not necessary to stand still for this action's entire duration (known as "channelling") to receive its effects – paladins may execute this action then immediately end it. This will still grant damage reduction to every party member behind them within 8 yalms, even if the animations and visual effects from this action were not visible.
- It is almost never recommended to channel Passage of Arms during uptime - when enemies are targettable. A rare exception is rapidly repeated raid-wide damage within a short timeframe in higher-end content, in which it may be beneficial to channel it for a bit longer.
