Monk (MNK) is a Disciple of War job unlockable at level 10 as an upgrade from the Pugilist class and is a  Melee DPS job.

General information

Guild

The Pugilists' Guild is in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald. Pugilists must specialize into monk once they reach level 10. The job trainer is Widargelt, although most job quests are started by talking to Erik, who is normally located in Ul'dah - Steps of Thal (10.6, 13.1).

Equipment

The monk is a disciple of war and wears armor "of Striking" (shared with Samurai) while using accessories "of Slaying" (shared with Dragoon, Reaper, and Samurai). They use fist weapons.

Fist Focus

After learning the trait Fist Focus, Monk's basic attacks can accumulate Fist Focus, which is used to cast form actions. The Fist Focus gauge is displayed below the character's health bar, showing the number of Fist Focus stacks.

Chakra

After learning Meditation, Monks can accumulate Chakra, and the gauge will display the number of Chakra stacks. Monks can consume 5 stacks of chakra to use Forbidden Meditation.
