The Galadion was the flagship of a failed rebellion of Sea Wolves against a tyrannical regime in Aerslaent. The ship and its crew fled to Eorzea as refugees, and its hull became the foundation upon which Limsa Lominsa now lies.

Lore

In 874 of the Sixth Astral Era the Galadion set sail from the northern seas, seeking refuge following a failed rebellion by its crew against the despotic rule of their homeland.[1][2] Led by Admiral Elilwaen,[2] the crew navigated through perilous waters until the ship ran aground on what is now known as Galadion Bay. It is rumored that the Navigator herself guided the ship on its voyage, and grounded it in the bay. The crew found sanctuary on Vylbrand, where they eventually founded Limsa Lominsa upon the Galadion's wreckage.

The crew of the Galadion called the land they debarked upon La Noscea, named after a second lodesman of the Galadion who perished of scurvy two days before the ship made landfall.

The Galadion had 2 Elezen helmsmen, Jean De Nevelle and Guy La Thagran, who were tasked by the Admiral to explore the newfound land. The helmsmen's survey found the land to be fertile and suitable for settlement, after which a small village was established along the coast of La Noscea. La Thagran's eastward survey route became the known as the La Thagran Eastroad; La Thagran Checkpoint being of his namesake as well.

This initial settlement was not longlasting, however, as it soon came under attack by the native Kobolds whose territory was encroached on by the Sea Wolves. This led to the crew to retreat to the wreckage of the Galadion and establish a fortified base upon it, using the ship as foundation for their settlement. According to legend, the Galadion's mizzenmast was hollowed out and repurposed into the area of Limsa Lominsa now known as the Mizzenmast, which is a lasting attestation to the ship's immense size.[3]
