Umbral Heart is a trait unlocked at level 58. It is available for Black Mage.

Notes

• An Umbral Heart nullifies Astral Fire's MP cost increase for Fire spells (which is normally 2x base MP cost), and reduces the MP cost for   Flare by one-third.
• Most Fire spells will consume one Umbral Heart, with some exceptions:
  •   Flare will consume all Umbral Hearts. The MP cost discount is always one-third, regardless of the amount of hearts consumed.
  •   Despair will not consume any Umbral Hearts. It does not receive an MP cost discount.
  • Actions that cost 0 MP will not consume Umbral Hearts (This applies to   Fire III under the   Firestarter effect; and   Flare Star).

History

• Patch 7.01 (2024-07-16): Now adds the "Grants an Umbral Heart" effect to   Umbral Soul, due to Umbral Soul now being obtained at level 35 (previously level 76).
• Patch 7.0 (2024-07-02): Added, replacing   Enhanced Freeze.
