Swiftscaled is a beneficial status effect that can be applied by vipers. It is a haste buff, reducing cast and recast timers of global cooldown actions.

The aforementioned actions grant Swiftscaled up to, and for 40 seconds. Subsequent applications will reset the duration to 40 seconds. Though viper has numerous weaves, all weaponskill recast timers are long enough to facilitate double weaving with Twinfang and Twinblood, even on high latency. This is true even with Swiftscaled.

Vipers are expected to have Swiftscaled active at all times. The 40 second timer means that only two Reawaken bursts may be executed before Swiftscaled likely expires through the third Reawaken burst.

Weaponskill recast time is reduced.

Swiftscaled was removed in patch 7.1, following viper's PvP rework. It reduced weaponskill recast time by 20%. Because auto-attacks (and spells) are not available in PvP, Swiftscaled does not affect the delay of those actions. Viper played similarly to monk, in needing to maintain GCD uptime as recast timers for weaponskills were longer than other jobs' weaponskills, being 2.4 seconds. Following the rework, viper now has a default GCD recast time of two seconds. The following actions granted Swiftscaled for 15 seconds, up to 30 seconds:
