Excogitation is an action unlocked at level 62. It is available for Scholar.

Gameplay
- This action will neither heal its target nor prevent a KO if excessive damage is taken or if they are instantly KO'd, either through falling or environmental hazards (i.e. "death walls" surrounding certain arenas).
Trivia
- Any status effects that restore HP upon falling below a specific HP threshold is colliqually called "Excog". Such status effects can be applied by
gunbreaker's 
Catharsis of Corundum from Heart of Corundum, and 
summoner's Everlasting Flight (PvP).
History
Patch 7.2 (2025-03-25): The HP trigger condition for the healing effect was changed from "when member's HP falls below 50%" to "when member's HP falls to 50% or below". This change was text-only.
Patch 5.0 (2019-07-02): Can now be used on self.
Patch 4.2 (2018-01-30): The effect "Grants target party member other than self the effect of Excogitation, restoring HP when member's HP falls below 50%." has been changed to "Grants target party member other than self the effect of Excogitation, restoring HP when member's HP falls below 50% or upon effect duration expiration."- Patch 4.1 (2017-10-10): Fixed an issue wherein the action would not trigger as a critical.

- Healing potency increased from 650 to 800.
- Duration increased from 30 to 45 seconds.
