Journal
- If you haven't heard about this year's Moonfire Faire, Mayaru Moyaru will steer you in the right direction.
- ※This quest is available for a limited time only.
- To slake your thirst for freedom from this hot Eorzean summer, Mayaru Moyaru suggests you pay a visit to Costa del Sol, where the Moonfire Faire is being held on the Queen Lhaminn, a remodeled ship. Promised unparalleled recreation, you sally forth to witness the seaside delights at hand.
- ※Please note that you will be unable to complete this quest after the seasonal event has ended. For details, please check the Lodestone.
- Chief Chaperone Haermaga was hoping Mayaru Moyaru would send along someone like you, which makes you suspect your visit might entail more than fun and games. Sensing your curiosity, the fellow Roegadyn invites you to learn more aboard the Queen Lhaminn.
- Haermaga gives you an overview of the ship's activities: cannon rides, water chutes, a swimming bath, and even a stage for performers. Additionally, Lhaminn's Coastguard works tirelessly to ensure the guests' comfort and security, and it is to this group of elite swimmers Haermaga would recruit you. P'obyano has been charged with uniform allocation, so you inquire with her before setting out on your first patrol.
- After a bit of digging, P'obyano pulls out a set of maritime attire expertly tailored to your size. Only while wearing it will you be recognizable to those in need as an official member of the Coastguard.
- ※You must be wearing the costume provided by P'obyano to complete this task. Speak with her again to prolong or restore the guise.
- On your patrol, you witness the gaiety of the guests alongside the dedicated efforts of your fellows in Lhaminn's Coastguard. Beaudefoin and R'fhul Tia are both especially pleased with the thoughtful design of the uniforms. When you encounter Hildelana, however, a more pressing matter is raised: one of the water chutes' wooden support beams has begun to splinter beneath the surface. She elects to remain nearby to direct the guests away from it, but this is only a stopgap measure until Haermaga is informed.
- With your patrol concluded, you report your observations to Haermaga, who assures you that he will arrange for the splintering beam to be repaired at once. Your conversation is interrupted, however, by a call for help somewhere on the coastline. By the sound of it, a woman is in distress─but before you can rescue her, you will need to find her.
- The moment the drowning woman is located, Haermaga leaps into action. Once she is brought ashore, he decides the best place for her to rest is aboard the Queen Lhaminn, where a healer is on standby for emergency situations precisely like these. It seems the two of you were meant to be introduced in a less dramatic fashion, but to what end, Haermaga has yet to reveal.
- Haermaga introduces the Miqo'te woman as T'zanza, the Ul'dahn weaver who worked tirelessly to craft the Coastguard uniforms. Concerned about her design's functionality, she sought to observe it from afar─yet ended up requiring the Coastguard's assistance in the process. Though she laments the trouble she caused, she feels proud to have contributed to the safety of the event. Lhaminn's Coastguard, for its part, has nothing but praise for her work.
Since you have completed your shift, Haermaga makes good on his promise to let you keep the maritime attire, though this gift may naturally lead to another patrol or two around the facility─if only for safety's sake.
Dialogue
Accepting the quest
Mayaru Moyaru: Ahoy, Forename! Wishing you could sail away from the summer heat? This year's Moonfire Faire has exactly what you need! Mayaru Moyaru: Our festival is the valorously perspiring face of the Adventurers' Guild, so I beg that you partake in our offerings. Mayaru Moyaru: This year's star attraction is the Queen Lhaminn, a ship fully remodeled into the ultimate seaside resort! Mayaru Moyaru: If you seek thrills─and some much-needed chill─head to Costa del Sol and speak with Chief Chaperone Haermaga.
Optional Dialogue
Mayaru Moyaru: We would love for you to join us in Costa del Sol! You will join us, won't you?
Speak with Haermaga in Costa del Sol
Haermaga: Ah, Forename! Precisely who I was hoping to see. Mayaru Moyaru sent you to help us, I expect? Haermaga: Well, don't be a stranger. Come up, and I'll tell you all about our event.
Speak with Haermaga again (cutscene)
Haermaga: Welcome aboard the Queen Lhaminn! First, an overview of her facilities. Haermaga: This venue was designed to incorporate Eorzea's premier summertime recreations. You name it, we have it. Haermaga: Water chutes, a deluxe swimming bath, a performance area, and...for the true thrill seekers...cannon rides! Haermaga: Master Gegeruju spared no expense for this year's faire, and its novelty has garnered swarms of visitors. Haermaga: But when you're out on the water, there's no telling when disaster might strike. Fortunately, we've hand-selected a team of elite swimmers for just such an eventuality. Haermaga: Lhaminn's Coastguard is standing by to help visitors in need! Haermaga: It is to this force that I would recruit you, provided you're willing.
What will you say? > Consider this coast guarded. > Any incentives I should know about?
Haermaga: You will, of course, be compensated─and the stylish, Ul'dahn-made uniform will be yours to keep! Haermaga: Your first task will be a simple patrol. Speak with our guests and ensure everyone is having a safe and enjoyable time here. Haermaga: Checking in with your colleagues is also standard protocol. Once you've made your rounds, report back to me. Haermaga: Ah, but your uniform! Ask P'obyano and she'll find one in your size. Haermaga: Get dressed and start patrolling, guards(wo)man. I'm counting on you!
Optional Dialogue
Haermaga: You'll need to be properly dressed for your patrol. P'obyano will have a uniform in your size.
Speak with P'obyano
P'obyano: Thanks for joining the Coastguard! Let's get you dressed for the job. P'obyano: (if player is a Hyur) Now, where did I put the Hyur-sized uniforms...? Ah, here we are. Plenty of these in stock. (if player is an Elezen) Now, where did I put the Elezen-sized uniforms...? Ah, here we are. Extra long! (if player is a Lalafell) Now, where did I put the Lalafell-sized uniforms...? Ah, here we are. Nearly overlooked them. (if player is a Miqo'te / Au Ra / Hrothgar) Now, where did I put the Miqo'te / Au Ra / Hrothgar-sized uniforms...? Ah, here we are. You'll find the tail hole is a godssend. (if player is a Roegadyn) Now, where did I put the Roegadyn-sized uniforms...? Ah, here we are. Think your biceps will fit through these sleeves? (if player is a Viera) Now, where did I put the Viera-sized uniforms...? Ah, here we are. These ones are in short supply! P'obyano: Off you go, then! These facilities won't patrol themselves.
System: You must continue wearing your Coastguard uniform in order to progress. System: You will change back to your normal garments if you move too far away. Look to your map for the garment change's area of effect. System: Speak with P'obyano to restore or prolong the transfiguration.

P'obyano: ...What happened to your uniform? Actually, never mind. I'll fetch another.

Concerned Guest: Keep your distance, sir. We're resolving a safety concern at the moment.
System: You must be wearing the uniform provided by P'obyano in order to progress.

(Optional) Concerned Guest: Another guard, I take it? If you have a moment, I need to speak with you and your comrade here.
Hildelana: Oh, fantastic! I was just hoping another guard would come along. There's a bit of trouble...
Concerned Guest: It's hard to see from the surface, but this beam's starting to splinter. Thought I'd alert the Coastguard before someone gets hurt.
Hildelana: I wanted to report the issue straightaway, but I need to make sure that other guests do not approach this area... Hildelana: Could you consult Haermaga about this in my stead? We'd do well to send for repairs.
Concerned Guest: Much obliged to the both of you. We're all in safe hands with you lot on patrol!
(Optional) Hildelana: Don't forget to mention the splintering beam to Haermaga, all right?

R'fhul Tia: Say it for me one more time! If ever you're in danger or need assistance, seek the color...
Eager Guest: Yellow!
R'fhul Tia: Right you are! Lhaminn's Coastguard is working tirelessly to ensure the safety of all. May our yellow garb shine like a beacon for those in need!
System: You must be wearing the uniform provided by P'obyano in order to progress.

Eager Guest: Yellow!
R'fhul Tia: Right you are! Lhaminn's Coastguard is working tirelessly to ensure the safety of all. May our yellow garb shine like a beacon for those in need! R'fhul Tia: Wait─is that you, Forename!? I didn't know you joined the Coastguard! Oh, it's a dream to be working alongside a famed adventurer like you! R'fhul Tia: As you can see, I'm teaching our guests how to spot us. Lucky we're all wearing this eye-catching shade of yellow, eh? R'fhul Tia: ...Hold on. You don't suppose the artisan who crafted our uniforms chose this color for that very purpose, do you!? R'fhul Tia: What an astonishing level of forethought. I'd better put as much effort into my lecture as the weaver put into this uniform!
Optional
R'fhul Tia: Every onze of consideration sewn into this uniform will be passed on directly to our guests. I'll make sure of that!
R'majha: Those uniforms sort of look like the Yellowjackets of Limsa Lominsa. Are they supposed to?
Eager Guest: Anxious as I am to see what's aboard the Queen Lhaminn, I'd be a fool not to listen to the Coastguard's lecture. Safety first, as they say!

Beaudefoin: Are you enjoying the Queen Lhaminn, my friend? Worry not, for the brave men and women of Lhaminn's Coastguard shall ensure the safety of all.
System: You must be wearing the uniform provided by P'obyano in order to progress.
In uniform
Beaudefoin: Joined the Coastguard, have you? From this post, I shall keep a watchful eye on our cannon riders. Beaudefoin: And in such comfort! Here in the water, this magnificent uniform is as a second skin! Beaudefoin: The artisan who stitched these is unmistakably a master of their craft. Were I to have the opportunity, I should very much like to thank them.
Optional
Beaudefoin: Thank you, master artisan, wherever you may be!

Impassioned Guest: This thrill... <pant>... It speaks to me... <pant>...
System: You must be wearing the uniform provided by P'obyano in order to progress.
In uniform
Impassioned Guest: This thrill... <pant>... It speaks to me! And now I simply must speak to you! Impassioned Guest: My great-grandmother...she originally hailed from the south sea isles, where our people catapult themselves into the treetops to dislodge coconuts. Impassioned Guest: “Is a cannon ride a catapult?” I thought. Only one way to find out, and so I recklessly launched myself, rocketing through the air as my courageous ancestors once did! Impassioned Guest: Yes... To honor their memory, I think I'll go another round!
While in uniform, speak with Haermaga
Not in uniform
Haermaga: Gone on break, have you? Be sure to retrieve your uniform from P'obyano before you resume your shift.
System: You must be wearing the uniform provided by P'obyano in order to progress.
In uniform (cutscene)
Haermaga: Welcome back, my friend. Anything to report? Haermaga: The water chutes have a splintering support beam? I'll arrange for repairs straightaway. Haermaga: As for our other guests, I'm glad to hear that all is well. It sounds like our uniforms are serving their purpose admirably. No doubt the weaver who made them would be glad to hear─
???: Help! My leg... <cough> Someone save me! <splash>
Haermaga: Did you hear that!? Haermaga: Someone is in need! Quick, take this spyglass and find them!
Optional Dialogue
Haermaga: Hurry! Time is of the essence!
While in uniform, use the spyglass from the vantage point to search for the distressed guest
System: Search your surroundings for the distressed guest. You may move the camera as well as zoom in and out. Target an area and inspect it with (left mouse button).
System: This guest is merely enjoying the sights. Your aid is not like to be required.
System: These guests look to be at peace on the water. Perhaps assistance is needed elsewhere.
System: A lone guest floats facedown in the water. She needs help!
Haermaga: Over there? Leave it to me! Haermaga: Phew... Who knew this thin fabric would feel so heavy in the water? Should have thought to wear a uniform myself.
Rescued Guest: I can't thank you enough. My leg seized up, and the current began pulling me out to sea...
Haermaga: You should come and rest awhile on deck. We have a healer aboard who can take a look at you. Haermaga: I confess, I'd hoped to introduce the two of you in a more dignified fashion, but ah well.
Rescued Guest: How embarrassing...
Haermaga: Anyroad, let's return to the Queen Lhaminn. I'll explain everything there.
Optional Dialogue
Haermaga: There you are, Forename. Go and get dressed, and I'll tell you the glad tidings.
System: You must be wearing the uniform provided by P'obyano in order to progress.
While in uniform, speak with Haermaga (cutscene)
(Optional) Rescued Guest: Oh, don't worry about me. I'm feeling much better now that I've caught my breath.
Haermaga: Good news! According to the healer, no lasting harm was done─and we have your sharp eye to thank for it. Haermaga: Now then, it's time the two of you were properly acquainted. This woman is none other than─
???: Haermaga!
R'fhul Tia: We just got word of the rescue. Is the poor soul all right?
Haermaga: Ah, you three. All is well, all is well. Haermaga: Allow me to introduce T'zanza, the Ul'dahn weaver responsible for the peerless uniforms you're all wearing.
T'zanza: An honor to make your acquaintance. I was anxious to see if my pieces were functioning as intended, so I decided to participate in the festivities as a guest. T'zanza: I'm afraid my exhaustion from work caught up to me at a critical moment... I can only apologize for the trouble I've caused.
Beaudefoin: No trouble at all! Your successful rescue is but proof that your clever design functions precisely as you intended─is that not so?
T'zanza: That's true. Even at a considerable distance, my eyes were naturally drawn to that vivid yellow... T'zanza: I am glad to know that my design does what little it can to help keep people safe.
R'fhul Tia: You're too humble by half! These uniforms give us the confidence to do our jobs, both in and out of the water!
T'zanza: Truly? You're too kind. Now I can return to my atelier with an easy heart.
Haermaga: Leaving so soon? Surely you've earned a break from your work. Come, stay awhile! Haermaga: And speaking of earning things─that uniform is now yours, Forename. May you wear it with pride!
Beaudefoin: Oh, how very generous, Haermaga. You fully intend to prevail upon his aid for the remainder of the festival, don't you?
Haermaga: N-No, I─! Bah, break time's over! Back to work, the lot of you! Haermaga: As for you, Forename, feel free to enjoy the faire to your heart's content─but as always, safety first!
Optional Dialogue
Haermaga: The Queen Lhaminn takes her name from the Songstress of Ul'dah, whose ballads once captivated the whole of Eorzea. Haermaga: We mustn't allow our safety standards to slip, lest we tarnish her honor along with our own.
P'obyano: The moment I laid eyes on our uniforms, I knew they were designed by a true professional. P'obyano: Fabric suited to the garment's purpose! Seams as straight as arrows, with nary a thread out of place! Every ilm bespeaks a deep respect for those who guard against danger. P'obyano: That said, someone really needs to pull poor T'zanza out of that “all work, no play” mindset. Maybe she'll loosen up if I offer to show her around...
Beaudefoin: With my shift thus concluded, I intend to swim, dance, and frolic to my heart's content─starting with the cannon ride! Beaudefoin: It was torture, I tell you, being forced to stand here and watch everyone else have the time of their lives. Now they shall watch as I soar like a bird!
R'majha: I've heard Fhul's speech so many times, I can recite it all by myself! Does that mean I can join the guard, too?
R'fhul Tia: My sister's been following me like a shadow all day long. "Someone's got to make sure you get your work done," she said! Can you believe it? R'fhul Tia: Admittedly my adventuring duties have kept me rather busy of late... Now that my shift is over, I see no reason not to spend some proper time with her.
Hildelana: I'm glad to be out of that freezing seawater! Now to sit back and relax... Hildelana: ...For gods' sakes, is that Beaudefoin lining up for the cannon ride? I'm going to need a stiff drink.
T'zanza: So much of my life was spent cooped up in a workshop... When it comes to recreation, I fear I'm woefully out of my depth. T'zanza: I considered the cannon ride, but Haermaga seemed to think it was too soon for me to go swimming again. I suppose he's right. T'zanza: Yes, I think I'll be satisfied simply bearing witness to the merriment. The memory of this day shall energize me during even the most complex commissions!
