Notes
- This action changes to Ending (which removes Dance Partner) after being used.
- Generally one Dance Partner should be assigned for the entire encounter without changing. Exceptions are if the Dance Partner dies (in which the player should switch immediately) or during downtime before certain phases in ultimate raids wherein a specific DPS may be much stronger in the upcoming phase.
- A quick way to select a Dance Partner in Duty Roulette content would be to pick the DPS with the highest HP (if there is a large difference), as this would indicate much stronger gear. Otherwise, melee DPS should generally be prioritized. After combat has initiated, the Enmity List will roughly indicate which DPS is doing the most damage, at which time a switch may be called for.
- Switching Dance Partner on DPS death is due to the powerful effects of Weakness negating any benefit from Closed Position.
- Similarly, the player should avoid partnering a Tank or Healer unless all other DPS are dead, have Weakness, or Brink of Death.
- If there are two dancers in a dungeon, each dancer should partner each other as most buffs from Dance Partner will stack.
- In an full party, if there are two or more dancers, they should not partner the same player as the buffs do not stack.
