Lore

"Here we are—Mord Souq! By the blessed shadow, I love this town!"

In the wake of the Flood and subsequent loss of regular patrols on once-well-traveled roads, the profession of caravan merchant has become more alike to adventurer than entrepreneur. Though traders suffer fewer casualties now that the city guard keeps an outpost in Amh Araeng, those peddling their wares may yet encounter wild beasts, errant sin eaters, or any number of other dangers on their journey. With strength enough to carry five crates at a time and the know-how of forty-five summers, Cassard is the ideal caravan leader, traversing diverse lands to breathe life into Norvrandt's ailing trade routes. Yet this cheery, good-humored Galdjent bears the weight of a grief he shows to none, as all the comrades with whom he began his mercantile aspirations have long since met their untimely ends.
