Able to execute powerful weaponskills.

— In-game description

Blackblood is a beneficial status effect that dark knights apply to themselves. It is received by executing certain actions. Blackblood allows for one execution of the Scarlet Delirium combo – the effect fades after execution.

Gameplay

Subsequent applications of Blackblood will refresh its timer to 10 seconds.

Executing Shadowbringer will grant Blackblood at the cost of 12,000 HP or Dark Arts, which is granted for 15 seconds if the barrier of The Blackest Night is consumed.
Executing Eventide will set the dark knight's HP to 1 and grant Blackblood, along with other status effects.

Blackblood is spent when executing any weaponskill from the Scarlet Delirium combo. This means that dark knights will need to execute Shadowbringer again in order to execute the next action within the combo.

The Scarlet Delirium combo will replace the basic Souleater combo. This basic combo will be preserved, but the timer before it resets will continue counting down while Blackblood is active. The Scarlet Delirium combo is its own self-contained combo – being on Syphon Strike will not replace it with Comeuppance when under the effect of Blackblood. Furthermore, this combo cannot expire, as it is a permanent buff-based combo. Being KO'd will reset the combo. Comeuppance instead is only executable after having already executed Scarlet Delirum. Once Torcleaver, the final hit of the combo, is executed, the combo will reset back to Scarlet Delirium.

The Scarlet Delirium combo is usually always a gain over the Souleater combo. This is because the potencies of the former's actions are increased when executed at lower HP values. Executing Shadowbringer may further lower the dark knight's HP, while also dealing AoE damage in itself. This results in dark knight having one of the highest single-target DPS in PvP that can be executed at any time.
