This traditonal Yak T'el dish is made by marinating the meat of ibruq in spices before wrapping it in a Ja Tiika banana leaf and steaming it in an earthen oven. Historically, it symbolizes a peace formed between the Xbr'aal and Mamool Ja peoples.

Lore

In the Dawntrail Main Scenario Quests, the four Dawnservant claimants were instructed by Hunmu Rruk to determine the recipe, gather the ingredients, and make this dish as part of the rite of succession. Wuk Lamat and Koana's dish was determined the winner, in part because they managed to find the banana leaves that were critical for its aroma. Bakool Ja Ja and Zoraal Ja's dish had the correct flavor but lacked the distinctive aroma.

Trivia

  • This dish is based on cochinita pibil, a Yucutan Mayan dish of slow-roasted pork wrapped in banana leaf.
