— In-game description

Sticky Tongue is an action unlocked at level 1. It is available for Blue Mage.

Flavor Text

In nature, Sticky Tongue is employed by gigantoads, who extend said lengthy and unusually adhesive appendages to capture distant prey. The blue magic rendition utilizes a far more sanitary aetherial “tongue,” but the principle is the same.

Tips

Acquisition Tips

  • Sticky Tongue is the first move used by the Toad when you attack from a distance.
  • To enter the guildhest Guildhest Basic Training: Enemy Strongholds as a blue mage, the duty must be entered with a full pre-made light party of 4 players. This can be done via the Party Finder. This is because Guildhests cannot be unsynced. (The guildhest may be entered with any group composition and with up to 4 blue mages. It is recommend to take 1 Tank, 1 Healer and 2 DPS; however, this is not a requirement to enter.)

Other Tips

  • Sticky Tongue's increased enmity can be combined with   Mighty Guard to manage aggro. However,   White Wind is generally much more effective for enmity generation.

History

  • Patch 5.45 (2021-02-01): Fixed an issue wherein Sticky Tongue did not increase enmity when used on targets immune to knockback effects.
  • Patch 5.4 (2020-12-08): The additional effect "Increased enmity" has been added.
  • Patch 4.5 (2019-01-08): Added.
