The Order of Nald'thal is an organization devoted to the god of commerce and overseer of the underworld, Nald'thal. It is at the head of the primary religious practicioniors in Ul'dah, where it has long existed, and with history reaching as far back as Belah'dia.

About

Since Nald'thal can be depicted as single or twin deities, the Order of Nald'thal encourages the worship as seperated Nald and Thal.

In their teachings, the twin Traders, as Nald'thal is called, preside over their own domains:

  • Nald, the world of the living
  • Thal, the halls of the dead

Milvaneth Sacrarium, the temple of Nald, is crowded with pious merchants seeking favor and fortune. Dewlala Dewla is the current Prioress of Milvaneth Sacrarium and therefore head of the Order of Nald'thal. The Arrzaneth Ossuary is the temple of Thal, and is seeked out by those who pray for wealth in the realm of death. The afterlife is one of the central pillars in the Order of Nald'thal. Being responsible for performing funerary rites it's priests have perfected the art of Thaumaturgy.

Known Members

Lore

The organization is rich in knowledge of their religion, as well as the arcane arts, alongside reading the stars in the sky. They assisted the Divan in penning the elaborate laws the city-state would follow. Though they have amended laws in favor of The Monetarists, they remain otherwise neutral and keep a distance from public power struggles. Yet they are often approached by merchant princes who scheme to sway legislation in their favor with donations to the order. Such secular dealings earn the scorn of the more spiritually-minded members of the clergy, but Prioress Dewlala, with her seat secure on the Syndicate, shows no sign of relinquishing either her or her organization’s worldly authority[1][2].
