Jeromere and Jude promised each other they would one day rediscover the Azure Star they spotted in the sky as children. Being the older of the pair, he entered the Studium first, and had hoped he might find it as a surprise gift. After many months of failure, however, he grew discouraged and transferred to the Faculty of Literature. He spent much of his time thereafter studying poetry and attempting to live his life to the fullest. When Jude joined him in the Studium, Jeromere tried to dissuade his childhood friend from pursuing the star to him the disappointment of failure. However, Jude's spare miraculous success in fulfilling their dream would inspire the twenty-year-old student to eventually return to the Faculty of Astronomy.
