Darkside
Increases damage dealt by 20%. MP regeneration stops during battle and Refresh statuses granted by others have no effect.
Effect ends upon reuse.
— In-game description
Darkside is an action unlocked at level 30. It is available for Dark Knight.
Notes
- This action was dark knight's DPS Stance. Unlike other tanks' DPS stances, Darkside was not mutually-exclusive with Grit, being dark knight's tank stance, which decreased damage dealt by 20%.
Gameplay
- Because all passive MP regeneration would be halted (in its Stormblood instance), dark knights needed to restore MP through other actions.
| Action | MP Recovered[1] | Additional Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Syphon Strike | 600 / 1200 | Was a part of the Souleater combo, meaning dark knights could not use their Power Slash enmity combo. Restored more MP while Grit was active. |
| Carve and Spit | 600 | Did not restore MP when under the effect of Dark Arts. |
| Blood Weapon[2] | 400 | Cannot be used while Grit was active. |
| Blood Price[2] | 300 | Only recovered MP when hit with this effect active. |
| Sole Survivor | 20% of max | Also restored HP by 20%. Restoration of both values were increased to 30% if the target was KO'd before the effect expired. Was on a lengthy 120-second cooldown. |
- ↑ This is to set a baseline, and adjust for the modern 10,000 MP cap post-Stormblood. Jobs had different MP caps, regeneration rates, and costs, based on level and attributes.
- ↑ a b These actions give an approximate value. These values are based off during Stormblood and not Heavensward. In Heavensward, Blood Weapon restored MP based on physical damage dealt; approximately 25% of the damage dealt.
