Third Umbral Era

The Third Umbral Era takes place after the Second Astral Era, and is overshadowed by a time of holy wars and famine. It would lead into the Calamity of Fire.

Summary of Events

Faith and fear had given churches absolute power over the realm. War and violence caused by the various religious leaders, who sought power and wealth over the realm, plummered the realm into a dark ago of holy wars, witch hunts and cleansing. Towns were burned, children were sold into slavery, and anyone left lived in fear of being hunted on grounds of religious purging or retribution. While wars were waged, the land was also left to rot due to there being not enough people to tend to the crops and animals. Because of this, the meager few left often succumbed to starvation.

Following the ends of the holy wars, the people were left with nothing, and had to attempt to rebuild. They turned to their gods, but they had forsaken them - the Calamity of Fire was upon them.
