The Flamefangs

When the Amalj'aa summoned Ifrit to defend them from those taking over their lands, the Lord of the Inferno was imbued with a fanatical desire to reclaim their lands. Any being enveloped in its flame was possessed of that same fanatical desire, worshiping Ifrit. These beings are known as the Flamefangs. Their numbers mostly consist of Amalj'aa, but Hyur and those of other races have been known to join their ranks. In accordance with their fervent desire, they seek to reclaim Thanalan, which they believe to be a holy land purified by Ifrit's sacred fire. They do constant battle with the Immortal Flames and the Brass Blades.

They regularly kidnap Ul'dahn citizens as sacrifices to Ifrit, and have set up an encampment outside of Little Ala Mhigo in Southern Thanalan called Zahar'ak as they have been driven from their home of Paglth'an for their intense violence and worship. The Ring of Ash opposed their every move, and sought to destroy the Flamefangs before the method to remove a Primals Tempering was discovered.
