Journal

  • Jenomis is crestfallen at the thought he might never see his son again. See if there is aught you can do to put his mind at ease.
  • A timely Echo-induced flashback gives you insight into Ramza Beoulve's final confrontation with Ultima, the High Seraph, and how Orran Durai and King Delita Heiral worked to see their companion's legacy both erased and preserved. The only path left for you...and all of Hydaelyn is to confront the Angel of Blood once more beneath the Orbonne Monastery.
    • ※The Orbonne Monastery can be accessed via the Duty Finder.
  • Ultima is defeated and the land rid of her foul presence once and for all. Ramza, however, has yet to regain consciousness. All you can do now is wait.
  • Aetherial visions of the hero Ramza Beoulve and King Delita appear to grant you and the Lexentales their thanks before returning once and for all to the Lifestream.
  • Jenomis, despite having fulfilled his lifelong desire to discover the truth behind Ivalice and his ancestor Orran Durai, has second thoughts about revealing his discovery to the world. He instead elects to tell the tale in an all-new final act of his renowned play, The Zodiac Brave Story. After witnessing the Majestic Theater Company rehearse this heartwarming scene, both you and Lina Mewrilah are at a loss for words...or at least you are.
  • Lina Mewrilah is thoroughly satisfied with the outcome of events, and decides she will remain in Kugane for as long as her employers at The Raven will foot the bill. Who knows, perhaps before that time comes, another opportunity for adventure with the Lexentales will arise?

Dialogue

Accepting the Quest

Jenomis cen Lexentale: We need to do something... but what recourse is left to us? The only means we had of protecting ourselves could not even prevent my son from... My son from...

Cutscene

Mikoto: I am sorry, Jenomis. My design was... flawed...
Fran: Not necessarily, Sharlayan. We all saw how it succeeded in drawing Alma back from the rift and shattering the Otius. The loss of the boy is not yours to bear.
Fran: Our focus here should not be on our failures, but what we have learned from them. The being beyond the rift -- it spoke before claiming Ramza. It referred to you as the "blood of its invokers." Could it be your ancestors are responsible for Ultima's summoning?
Jenomis cen Lexentale: Most certainly not! I have discovered no such inference anywhere in the Durai Papers! Besides, tales of the High Seraph existed farbefore even the earliest of Ivalician legends.
Fran: Then who exactly did summon Ultima, and why does she think them your kin?
Mikoto: Look!
Montblanc: I have a bad feeling about this, kupo!

Echo

???: Ramza, dead!? You lie about as well as you carry yourself in battle, Orran.
Orran Durai: I did not say he was dead, my Lord Delita, merely that he had abandoned his mortal vessel, entrusting his aetherial soul to the auracite.
Delita Heiral: But why would he do such a thing? Peace is finally come to Ivalice! There is naught to be had from further sacrifice!
Delita Heiral: The kingdom is won, and this victory is as much his as it is mine! He risked life and limb to shield me from the dark that would have seen me perish.
Delita Heiral: Without him, I would not be standing here before you. It is my duty as both king and colleague to see him saved!
Delita Heiral: Knights, to me! We ride for Orbonne!
Orran Durai: My lord! Wait!
Orran Durai: Ajora Glabados, first of the Zodiac Braves, was not the hero the church would have you believe. He betrayed Mother Hydaelyn for the promise of coin and power, summoning forth a terrible evil from the depths of the celestial abyss.
Orran Durai: It was believed only one of the land's chosen—only a Warrior of Light might stand against this threat.
Orran Durai: Yet while victorious in battle, Ramza was unable to see the darkness vanquished. If failure was all that awaited our Warrior of Light, then what chance do you presume any other might stand?
Delita Heiral: Are you saying I should do nothing, then!?
Alma Beoulve: No, my lord. Ramza is. My brother's final wish before he surrendered to the aether was that his name be struck from the annals of history.
Delita Heiral: Alma, you're unhurt! But I was led to believe none but Orran returned from Orbonne. What is this you speak of your brother's wishes?
Orran Durai: When it became apparent that we were powerless to truly defeat the High Seraph, we chose the only path left to us—to do what Hydaelyn Herself did countless centuries past: imprison Ultima.
Orran Durai: And as you are aware, my lord, a prison is only as strong as the seal on its gates...
Alma Beoulve: Ramza sacrificed his body to ensure that the Angel of Blood would never again walk the land, and he believed that if people knew of this sacrifice, it would only inspire them to seek out the Holy Stones and repeat the mistakes of those come before.
Alma Beoulve: If you truly avouch yourself as his friend, then you will honor this, his final plea.
Delita Heiral: No! Ramza should not be forgotten! He should be raised up as a hero for his deeds and claim his rightful place at my side. Only he might be my Knight Gallant!
Orran Durai: He is gone, my lord.
Alma Beoulve: Before Ramza was your friend, before he was my brother, he was a Warrior of Light. He did what he did for Hydaelyn, and for those who would one day, too, heed the Crystal's call.
Ramza Beoulve: Claim the throne, my friend. Become ruler of Ivalice and restore peace to this war-torn realm once and for all.
Delita Heiral: Wait, Ramza! Don't leave me! Please! I beg of you!
Ramza Beoulve: You will make a fine and just king, Delita. See you do not stray from that path.
Delita Heiral: Ramza!
Delita Heiral: The stones in these two necklaces, you are certain they will guide the heroes of a new era to Ramza?
Orran Durai: 'Tis what Ramza wished, my lord.
Delita Heiral: Orran, O do you believe I can bear another farewell this day. Will you not reconsider my offer to remain as a member of my court?
Orran Durai: 'Tis but a matter of time before the Cardinal and his Temple Knights grow wise to my past. I would not have my presence here implicate you as well.
Orran Durai: Ramza beseeched me strike his name from history, but like you, my lord, I could not bear the thought of future generations blind to the truth. As such, I penned this chronicle of the hero's journeys.
Orran Durai: I fear the world, however, is not yet ready for the gospel contained within these pages; nor would the church ever allow its circulation. In fact, I believe they will confiscate every existing copy and lock them away in their library.
Alma Beoulve: And what better way for the words to remain forever preserved than in one of the most highly-guarded vaults in all the realm? Then, one day, when the church has fallen out of favor, the chronicle will be discovered and truth shall prevail.
Delita Heiral: I must admit, your plan is intriguing, Orran... but once the church learns it was you who penned the chronicle, your life—

Echo End

Lina Mewrilah: [Forename]!
Mikoto: 'Twas the Echo, wasn't it?
Jenomis cen Lexentale: The removal of Ramza's name from the history books, the Durai Papers, the pendants... it was all set in motion by Orran himself!
Fran: And if the liberator's visions are to be taken as fact, it also appears we now know what the High Seraph meant by "blood of my invoker."
Mikoto: She was not speaking of ancestors in the sense of actual kin, but the line of those chosen by Hydaelyn to serve Her as Warrior of Light.
Lina Mewrilah: But then why abduct Ramza... or even Alma? Unless... there is something you haven't been telling us!
Alma bas Lexentale: She was using us... to lure [Forename]. It is [her/his] vessel the High Seraph desires.
Lina Mewrilah: Matron's teats, Alma, how long have you been awake!?
Fran: <sigh> I've been a fool...
Fran: I told our leader that it did not matter if our request for aid was refused, for I had an alternative ploy.
Bwagi: General!
Fran: It is all right, Bwagi. My intention was to claim one of these auracite in the name of the resistence and use its power to lay waste to the Garlean occupants. Only now do I realize how flawed my ambitions were.
Lina Mewrilah: You mean this whole time you were playing us for fools!? Why didn't we see it earlier!? Never trust a woman with ears longer than mine, I always say!
Fran: You've every right to be angry, and I apologize for misleading you. But believe me, I no longer have any desire to deceive you and yours. I shall see you to the Orbonne Monastery, and ask naught in return but that you let me join you in your rescue of Ramza.
Fran: Do not misunderstand me. I do not do this for any one of you.
Fran: I do it for my people in both Golmore and Rabanastre—people who may die if this High Seraph is allowed to return to power.

Optional

Jenomis cen Lexentale: It pains me as a father that I am powerless to save my own son. [Forename], I have asked much of you these past moons, but naught is more important than what I ask you now. Please, find Ramza.
Alma bas Lexentale: This is all my fault. I was convinced it was Ramza and my father who were bedeviled by the auracite...when in fact, it was me all along...
Mikoto: You are wrong, Alma. The auracite held no power over you. It never did. Your concern for your family was justified, for they allowed their desires to cloud their own judgment. Mikoto: You needn't blame yourself for matters beyond your control.
Alma bas Lexentale: But what of Ramza? He's gone because he tried to save me... Alma bas Lexentale: Please, [Forename]. You must bring back my brother. I...I don't know what I would do if I lost him, too...
Mikoto: If your vision is true, then not even the Zodiac Braves—Warriors of Light themselves—could defeat the High Seraph. Are you certain we should not just allow Ramza's seal to endure? No... That would mean abandoning Ramza...but then what options are left us?
Lina Mewrilah: High Seraph? Hah! You've defeated tougher opponents on both Aldenard and Othard! Ultima will rule the day she rose up against the one and only Warrior of light! She will... won't she, [Forename]?
Montblanc: You're right, dear brother! We must do something! Er...might you have any sugestions, kupo?
Hurdy: We must do what moogles do best—dance! Dance, I say!
Gijuk: If you need help finding Ramza, do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help. I like to think it is what Ba'Gamnan would have wished.
Rinok: Is the boy's father well? I cannot imagine what he is going through. Losing his daughter, only to lose his son moments after her return...
Fran: It was never my intention to deceive you... All right, it was not...until it was. But you must understand that I was only thinking of my people. I have not once held you as an enemy, only as an obstacle.
Fran: And now that I know that to be false, I hope we can work together to save the land from the terrible evil that draws ever nearer.
Company Belle: We must do something, [Forename]! Anything! We cannot let it end like this. Tia would never forgive us...
Company Muscle: I am decided! I shall accompany you on your journey to rescue Ramza and see these muscles put to good—Your fellowship is in no dire need of another hand, you say? Of course... I shall be here training should you need me, then!
Company Thespian: Ramza exhibits talent as both an actor and a playwright, yet he lacked the sense to realize that aligning himself with a foreign barbarian would end in naught but failure. If only he had petitioned the Emperor...
Company Tragedian: If anyone can rescue our Ramza from this peril, it is you...and I mean that. Literally. Look around. Not one of us here is a fighter. You are our only hope.
Company Tragedienne: I assume you will soon be dealing with this mess—dealing it a jab to the gut and then a swift kick to the crotch.
Company Dancer: You will find Ramza safe. I know it. May your gods be with you, [Forename].

Entering the Orbonne Monastery

Duty Dialogue

Fran: The ruins of the monastery lie ahead, but do not think the path will be easy.
Montblanc: The aether here feels...corrupted, kupo...
Fran: Harpies? My sisters would not allow this... Unless...
Montblanc: We probably shouldn't go barging in there alone, kupo!
Fran: Impressive. Perhaps you are deserving of your accolades. But do you have an answer for this...this Mist? Or is it aether?
Fran: Only the name of these ruins lives on with my people. We have no knowledge of their past, nor do we wish it. Trespass into the monastery is avoided except when necessary.
Montblanc: I imagine this is what it is like to be swallowed by a morbol, kupo!
Fran: Ahead! I see someone... No... Something.
Montblanc: There are traces of aetherial residue here. Most likely from auracite, kupo.
Mustadio: My name is Mustadio Bunansa...and all paths lead through me.
Mustadio: Watch this!
Mustadio: Nothing I cannot fix!
Mustadio: I see you!
Mustadio: You show promise. But promise won't save you from what comes next!
Mustadio: Let this be your final testament!
Mustadio: And where might you be off to?
Mustadio: I rarely miss.
Mustadio: Tell me... What is your darkest fear?
Mustadio: You have proven yourself deserving of the title, Zodiac Brave. With this my journey can, at long last, come to an end.
Fran: The last time I was here, the only thing holding watch over these stones was a deafening silence. Could it be that guardian rose from its slumber upon sensing your master's auracite?
Montblanc: The aether here is different. Is this...joy I feel, kupo?
Fran: When the Empire marched upon Rabanastre, many who lived in the desert fled east to the sanctuary of the jungle. Some who were not turned away by my sisters are said to have taken refuge here.
Montblanc: This wine looks good enough to drink! Do you think we should─? No? Alright, kupo...
Fran: There! Another...Lucavi? It appears to be a knight, but how─
Montblanc: There is much pain in the aether here. A great loss, kupo...
Agrias: The Beoulve youth guides your fate, but have you the faith to fulfill his legacy?
Agrias: Raise your shields against the falling light!
Agrias: To the current of life we succumb, its judgment swift and final. Its bite as cold as steel.
Agrias: The hearts of men are black with corruption and must needs be cleansed!
Agrias: Raise your swords against the coming night!
Agrias: Seven shadows cast, seven fates foretold. Yet at the end of the broken path lies death, and death alone.
Agrias: I call out to the skies and tremble as the brilliance of a thousand bolts blinds mine enemies and tears their flesh asunder.
Agrias: To the current of life we succumb, its judgment swift and final. Its bite as cold as steel.
Agrias: The dreams of men are fleeting, yet they must be embraced if they are to flourish. Have you the faith to do as much?
Agrias: O, divine light! Send us from our sins!
Agrias: Gaze deep into the light!
Agrias: They who dwell aloft have spoken. Let their words echo in your empty soul. Ruination is come!
Agrias: The hearts of men are black with corruption and must needs be cleansed!
Agrias: Well fought, champion. I leave you now to your quest. My Ovelia awaits...
Fran: She was a knight most noble, and her sacrifice will not be forgotten. My sisters will want to know much of her tale, I believe.
Montblanc: Let me guess, someone from the Durai Papers, kupo?
Fran: The path ends here, but for that arcane circle. Do you believe it some sort of gate?
Montblanc: That arcane circle is somehow connected to the auracite! I can feel it, kupo!
Fran: Something here feels different than the monastery above... Otherworldly...
Montblanc: I'm going to go out on a limb and guess this place is fairly old, kupo.
Fran: Can you not feel it? An evil lurks here...one far beyond our ken.
Fran: Once, when I was very young, I heard the elders speak of a dark city where the horrors that haunt our nightmares dwell. The Necrohol, they called it─the Necrohol of Mullonde.
Montblanc: Mullonde? Now where have I heard that name before, kupo?
Fran: This...guardian─he is not like the first two. We must tread with care, lest our journey meet a premature end.
The Thunder God: Your coming was foretold, servant of Ivalice. Or perhaps you serve another.
The Thunder God: I am Count Cidolfus Orlandeau. Your journey ends here.
The Thunder God: The hearts of men are black with corruption and must needs be cleansed!
The Thunder God: I call out to the skies and tremble as the brilliance of a thousand bolts blinds mine enemies and tears their flesh asunder.
The Thunder God: Seven shadows cast, seven fates foretold. Yet at the end of the broken path lies death, and death alone.
The Thunder God: Open your eyes to the darkness, and drown in its loveless embrace. The gods will not be watching.
The Thunder God: Misfortune hangs heavy on a head once held high. Such is poor cover for when the heavens fall.
The Thunder God: To the current of life we succumb, its judgment swift and final. Its bite as cold as steel.
The Thunder God: To live by the sword is to die by the sword. There is time enough for regret in the flames of hell.
The Thunder God: Honed is the blade that severs the villain's head. Endless is the path that leads him from hell.
The Thunder God: You will need to withstand far more than this if you are to stand against the likes of her!
The Thunder God: Spirits of heroes fallen, rise! Pass thy judgment on those who would gaze unto the beyond!
The Thunder God: I have been called the god of thunder. You will now know why! Upon my holy blade the very world lies in balance.
The Thunder God: And now the scales will tip!
The Thunder God: That was merely the beginning, Warrior of Light! Merely the beginning!
The Thunder God: They who dwell aloft have spoken. Let their words echo in your empty soul. Ruination is come!
The Thunder God: Even the strongest of shields cannot defend the weakest of wills. A moment's hesitation beckons a lifetime of pain!
The Thunder God: Hark! The screams of ruin rise above the storm's discord. Shudder not in her endless cold.
The Thunder God: The clouds have parted and the skies cleared. It is time I bade you farewell.
Montblanc: Something is wrong... I sense both anguish and rapture, kupo!
Fran: The Mist I sensed before─the aether─its flow is much stronger now. It is almost as if the guardians we defeated were somehow preventing its escape...
Fran: The aether grows thick. She whom we seek must lie beyond this threshold.
Montblanc: You mustn't fear her! Leave that to me, kupo!

Cutscene

Ultima, the High Seraph: Is it sanctum you seek, my wayward children?
Or perhaps you are come in search of power.
Ultima, the High Seraph: That which lies at your feet—that blessed bauble—can grant you both.
You need but will it so.
Ultima, the High Seraph: Now take up your salvation and begone.
Mortal agency in matters divine shall not be suffered.

Duty Dialogue

Ultima, the High Seraph: You shall rue the day you raised your eyes to the heavens.
Ultima, the High Seraph: Denizens of the abyss! From ink of blackest night, I summon you!
Demi-Famfrit: O darkest of vessels! You are my sword! You are my rain!
Demi-Belias: Time waits for no one!
Demi-Hashmal: To maintain order, one must first have control.
Ultima, the High Seraph: Death awaits defiance!
The Thunder God: Honed is the blade that severs the villain's head. Endless is the path that leads him from hell.
Agrias: It is time to end this!
Ultima, the High Seraph: Bare your steel!
Mustadio: She weaves her foul magicks!
Agrias: Only we can shield you from doom! To me, heroes! To me!
Ultima, the High Seraph: Simmer does the light of life before rising to the heavens in a cleansing conflagration of divine benevolence.
Ultima, the High Seraph: You will not intervene!
Mustadio: What is she doing!?
The Thunder God: The barrier will not last! We must stop her!
Mustadio: Is it over?
Ultima, the High Seraph: I am the only god!
Agrias: Such fury!
The Thunder God: Graaaaaah!
Ramza: Now is not the time to stay our blades!
Ramza: Children of Hydaelyn! Make it swift! You are Her only hope!
Ultima, the High Seraph: Few can claim to have endured the might of my will.
Ultima, the High Seraph: Denizens of the abyss! From ink of blackest night, I summon you!
Ultima, the High Seraph: Bend to my will!
Ultima, the High Seraph: I see it now. In you...his blood, my vanquisher in times...long past. But not so soon...shall I accept defeat...

Post—Battle Cutscene

Ultima, the High Seraph: I am your mother. I am your maker! I. Am Ivalice!
Consign me unto darknes and your light will be forever lost!

Post–Duty Cutscene

Montblanc: He's awake, kupo! ... But is it truly him?
Ramza bas Lexentale: Thank you. Thank you all for coming to my aid.
Ramza Beoulve: And you have my thanks, noble Warrior of Light. You have achieved what I could not.
Ramza Beoulve: And you, bearer of my blood and the blood of House Durai. Thank you for seeing my final wish fulfilled.
Ramza Beoulve: My sacrifice has finally been given meaning...
Ramza Beoulve: Now, my friends, let us retire to Mother Hydaelyn's bosom, that we may finally rest.
Ramza Beoulve: Farewell. You are the true heroes of this story.
Ramza Beoulve: Delita. How I have missed you, old friend.
Delita Heiral: Forgive me, Ramza! You deserved better than what history gave you. I... I could have done more... I am truly sorry...
Delita Heiral: These countless centuries did I long for the day that we might meet once again. And now, that time is finally come. Hydaelyn beckons us both.

Optional

Company Musician: You have saved Ramza! You have saved my brother! If there is anything I can do to repay you, name it, and it is yours!
Company Muscle: I see you handled matters on your own—not that I believed you couldn't. With the amount of time that you obviously devote to your training, victory was all but guaranteed. Ah hah hah hah.
Company Assistant: I knew you could do it, [Forename]. We all did.
Wandering Dramaturge: Words cannot describe how happy we all are to have Ramza back aboard the Prima Vista...and it is literally my job to use words to describe things.
Company Tragedienne: Tell me, [Forename]. What was it like? Did the angel scream when you clipped her wings?
Company Tragedienne: Oh, I apologize. I seem to have allowed myself to get caught up in all the excitement. I actually abhor violence. 'Tis why I joined the Majestic instead of taking up steel for the imperial army.
Company Tragedienne: Well that, and because I fell in love with Ramza the first time I laid eyes on him. I mean, fell in love with his magnificent performance, of course. What did you think I meant? Is it hot in here?
Company Tragedian: You've done it again! Not that there was any doubt! Oh, there were those who doubted you. I shan't name names, but I was not amongst them! I always knew you to be a beast. A lion. A beastly lion!
Company Dancer: You're back! And with Ramza! Oh, I worried for you so! For both of you!
Company Belle: Our thanks, [Forename]. If aught ill had befallen Ramza, his mother would have risen from the Lifestream to haunt us for all eternity. Oh, you presume I jest?
Fran: I owe you an apology, [Forename]. I was wrong to doubt you.
Fran: Whether it be in a council room or on the field of battle, you have proven yourself more than worthy of the many praises the bards sing. I am glad to have counted you an ally, for I would not wish you upon even my worst enemy.
Bwagi: Despite what Lady Fran says, I had no doubt that you would come through in the end. It has been an honor, [Forename]. I only wish Ba'Gamnan were here with us to celebrate this day...
Mikoto: [Forename]. It is almost sad to see our quest come to an end, though we have given the land's scholars much to consider. Sharlayan will have to open a school of Ivalician studies, are we to keep up.
Monblanc: But they were there, Hurdy, clear as day—the hero Ramza and good King Delita! Why would I lie about something like that, kupo?
Hurdy: My question is, why wouldn't you? Still, after what we've all been through in the past few days, I might be willing to give you the benefit of the doubt...this time, kupo!
Lina Mewrilah: You're alive! Oh, but of course you are. You'd think that after this many triumphs, one might grow tired of saving the world. Consider us all fortunate that you have not! Ah hah hah hah!
Almas bas Lexentale: You rescued my brother, and for that I shall ever be indebted to you. You will be in my heart, always, [Forename].
Ramza: And here we are, [Forename]. I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for my family...and that is before you saved me from the High Seraph!
Gijuk: You slew the she–devil who brought those unholy stones into the world? Then Ba'Gamnan can finally rest in peace. Thank you, [Forename[.
Rinok: My only regret is that if we had grown wise to the High Seraph's presence sooner, perhaps our captain, too, would be here to enjoy this victory...

Speaking with Jenomis (Cutscene)

Jenomis cen Lexentale: I am so sorry, Ramza. Alma. I convinced myself my research was the most important thing in my life, all the while you two were standing before me. Can you find it in your hearts to forgive your father?
Alma bas Lexentale: It is all right. We are still here, are we not?
Ramza bas Lexentale: And we triumphed. We proved your theory true. Ivalice existed. Ramza existed. And Orran Durai was not a heretic, but a hero. Now all that remains is to tell the world!
Jenomis cen Lexentale: No, my son. We needn't burden ourselves further.
Ramza bas Lexentale: But Father! We cannot allow our ancestor's name to remain—
Jenomis cen Lexentale: And we will not. Yet simply not in the manner you think.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: I shall be adding a final act to The Zodiac Brave Story telling of how Ramza the forgotten hero and his chronicler Orran Durai smote the Angel of Blood and saved Ivalice from an age of darkness, before quietly embarking on a final journey that would take them far beyond the horizon.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: And of course, I shall not leave out those nameless heroes who fought alongside Ramza—without whom the young noble would have surely perished.
Alma bas Lexentale: Is that what you truly want, Father? For the story to end?
Jenomis cen Lexentale: It will only end on the stage, my dear, and live on in the hearts of the crowd.
Ramza bas Lexentale: King Delita and Orran envisioned the Virgo as a beacon which would lead future generations to the truth about the founding of their kingdom. They were right. And just as the pendants guided us, now we shall guide the masses through our play.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: And now you see, my son.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: I would offer you my thanks again, [Forename], but thanks are not nearly enough to express my gratitude for all you have given us.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: Perhaps after I complete The Zodiac Brave Story, I shall pen a tale about the legendary Warrior of Light and [her/his] adventures across the Three Great Continents.
Cid: Then you'll have your work cut out for you, my friend. [Forename] has enough battles under [her/his] belt to fill at least three tomes, if not four.
Lina Mewrilah: Would you stop doing that, Cid?
Cid: And [her/his] tale is far from over, isn't it?

Cutscene

Jenomis cen Lexentale: All right, this is our final dress rehearsal for the night. Make it count. Positions, everyone!
Ramza bas Lexentale: Yes, Principal!
Jenomis cen Lexentale: Lights! Music! There will be no more mistakes from you two, am I clear?
Montblanc & Hurdy: Mothercrystal clear, kupo!
Lina Mewrilah: They are going to perform the new final act!
Jenomis cen Lexentale: Begin!
Alma: What ever will we do? The church has branded us heretics. No home awaits us in Ivalice.
Ramza: We shall embark on a journey—a journey together!
Alma: Together?
Ramza: Together! The Crystal's call has been answered and evil vanquished from the land. We are now free to soar like the griffin!
Alma: Free? But how?
Ramza: By casting off our noble names and forging a new path—one not bound by fate!
Ramza: And on that path we shall meet new friends, make a new family.
Ramza: And unto them we shall entrust the true tale of our deeds that they may carry on our legacy—for all eternity!
Alma: Sword in hand, a warrior clutches stone to breast.
Ramza: In sword etched he his fading memories.
Alma: In stone he tempered his skill.
Ramza: By sword attested, by stone revealed.
Alma and Ramza: Their tale can now be told!
Lina Mewrilah: Bravo! Bravo! You both were wonderful!
Jenomis cen Lexentale: I am inclined to agree with the Lady Mewrilah's sentiments, but there is always room for improvement. Back to your positions, everyone! Again from the top!
Montblanc: Again? I've had enough of this! I was promised a starring role, kupo! It is in my contract!
Hurdy: Oh, hush, Brother, before Jenomis has us back to polishing boot buckles again!

Cutscene

Meanwhile, in the Clockwork City of Goug...

Noah van Gabranth: Well?
Imperial Architectus: Sir! Further research will be required to reach a positive conclusion, but preliminary tests show that the technology utilized here bears striking similarities to our own.
Noah van Gabranth: Excellent. Let the Eorzeans play with their baubles. True power lies within these very walls.
Noah van Gabranth: It appears our ancestors were as cunning as they were ruthless.
Noah van Gabranth: A weapon powerful enough to carve a gateway to the land's very core. His Radiance will be eager to test this "Tartarus," wouldn't you all agree?

Optional

Montblanc: Principal Jenomis has agreed to give me an actual role in the play! It is not Montblanc who stands before you, kupo, but Isilud Tengille, the most handsome and noble...and handsome of the Knights Templar!
Hurdy: Who has all of two lines before he must return to his proper place backstage working the lights. Do not forget that, kupo!
Company Musician: Lady Fran has agreed to introduce me to a storyteller from her former village that I might learn of her people's history.
Company Musician: Would that this meeting inspire me to pen my next great symphony! Or at least a merry jug to use in The Zodiac Brave Story's newest act!
Company Muscle: >> "A man does not eat an omelette without breaking eggs! Blood is the price of progress! It is the ink in which history's pages are writ! <<
Company Muscle: >> "Look around you, boy! Ivalice rots from within! Your brother would carve out the root of its decay, even if it means his hands must needs be soiled!" <<
Company Muscle: Ah, never a truer passage was spoken...though I prefer to take my eggs raw. Builds character, they say. Or at least I say.
Company Assistant: With the new final act comes several new roles—roles we do not have the means to handle. You don't think you would be interested in a—Ah, but I jest!
Company Tragedienne: "What flaw do you hold there to be in us? That we were born between a different set of walls?
Company Tragedienne: "Do you know what it means to hunger? To sup for months on naught but broth of bean?
Company Tragedienne: "Why must we be made to starve that you might grow fat? You call us thieves, but it is you who steal from us the right to live!"
Company Tragedienne: You did not think me merely the company's outfitter, did you? I would also wager you did not know I make a wicked broth of bean.
Company Tragedian: "You, no less human that we? Ha! Now there's a beastly thought. You've been less than we from the moment your baseborn father fell upon your mother in whatever gutter saw you sired!
Company Tragedian: "You've been chattel since you came into the world drenched in common blood!"
Company Tragedian: A terrible line, isn't it. Oh, the writing is fine. Jenomis is a master at his craft. It's just... Why did I have to be picked for the role of Argath? He's such a...such a...bloody bastard! Unlike myself...of course.
Wandering Dramaturge: I run, you give chase... I am the hart...and you the...something... But this hard has laid... Has laid—
Wandering Dramaturge: Ah, [Forename]! You have caught me again in the throes of a bloody bout with my archnemesis, writer's block. Perhaps a change of pace would serve me well.
Wandering Dramaturge: Was there aught you needed?
Company Dancer: Ah, allow me to introduce the Majestic's newest member. this young man is from the Mujikoza and has come to study under me—Under us. Under our guidance. Yes.
Starstuck Youth: It is an honor, milday. Thank you for this...opportunity.
Company Dancer: What? I know not what you're implying, but this relationship is purely professional! Purely! And this is merely rouge on my cheeks. Nothing more!
Jenomis cen Lexentale: Yesterday, Ivalice was a legend. Today, it is history. And this is all thanks to your selfless efforts. No longer need I hide my heritage, for you have shown it to be noble.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: I only pray this final act I have penned proves worthy of them and their deeds. Granted, it still requires much polishing.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: And yes, I am fully aware that my conclusion to Ramza's tale differs from that which you saw in your vision and learned in the halls of Mullonde, but that was rather the point.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: I wanted people to see Ramza in control of his own fate, ending his story on his own terms. Entrusting faith into future generations is noble, but it diminshes the accomplishments of Ramza and his companions. Which is why I grnated them the victory they deserved.
Jenomis cen Lexentale: History remembers those who prevailed...and thus will his name endure.
Company Belle: "Lord Dycedarg and the duke would use her as a pawn in their game of thrones! Just as the two of them now use you! Is ia man like you not ashamed to be no more than a piece in their game? Have you no pride—no honor?"
Company Belle: Hmmmm.... There is something lacking in the delivery. A touch more tempered fury, perhaps. A sidelong glance into a swift turn and then— Ah, [Forename]. Simply practicing my lines.
Ramza bas Lexentale: I hope the new act was to your liking. It may still change, seeing as we have yet to finish our reheasals, but I believe Father has another masterpiece on his hands.
Ramza bas Lexentale: I have always admired my father, but never more than I do now. I finally have come to understand why it was so important for him to tell the tales that he did, even if those actions did see him driven from his home.
Ramza bas Lexentale: Still, I worry that we may never find our palce here in thie foreign land, that our voices may never be heard. Everything we knew is gone. Everything we worked for, behind us.
Ramza bas Lexentale: Will the people of Othard and Aldenard accept us for what we offer, in spite of who we were? Will they flock to our stage to hear our stories? Will they laugh at our hests and weep for our losses?
Ramza bas Lexentale: I know it is childish to fret over such matters, but perhaps I am still a child, desperate for the acceptance of strangers...despite the fact I am already accepted. Accepted by my friends and family...
Ramza bas Lexentale: Something happened that day I laid hands on my mother's necklace. My father would have me believe it was the hero Ramza's auracite—the Virgo—that dispelled the fear and hate in my heart and replaced it with love.
Ramza bas Lexentale: I would like to believe that it was not only the holy stone, but me...growing up. Journeying to a new land, meeting new people, leaning of new cultures and customs—these things ignited a flame inside me. A flame of change!
Ramza bas Lexentale: You, Montblanc, Hurdy, Mikoto, Master Cid, Beagi, Fran...even Lina. You have all helped fan that flame, that they may rise into a conflagration to burn away the old Ramza, leaving what stands before you now.
Ramza bas Lexentale: My father spoke of one day authoring a play that woudl chronicle your adventures. I believe I will tell him to abandon that endeavor...for I wish to author it myself. That is...if you will allow it.
Ramza bas Lexentale: You are welcome here any time, [Forename], and I hope that you will take time to visit and tell us more of your deeds. I shall be waiting.
Alma bas Lexentale: Thanks are not nearly enough for all you have provided us, but sadly, they are all I have to offer. Thank you, [Forename].
Alma bas Lexentale: You watched our reheasal, so you have witnessed firsthand the fruits of my father's labor. It is now on us, the players, to see their seeds cast across the realm.
Alma bas Lexentale: From fleeing the Empire to searhcing for a new audience...From finding the truth of our ancestors to bringing back my mother to saving my brother... Many paths were walked on this journey, but ultimately they all led here.
Alma bas Lexentale: Was it merely teh auracite that guided us to the Orbonne Monastary, or was it, dare I say...fate?
Alma bas Lexentale: Our exile, our arrival in Hingashi, my father's disappearance...without even a single one of these things, our path may not have corssed. If that is not fate, then...
Alma bas Lexentale: Now that Ramza's desire has been fulfilled, the auracite set in this necklace appears to have lost its blessing. Perhaps it is for the best, but I am simply glad that a piece of my mother remains.
Alma bas Lexentale: I shall not say farewell, for I would not have this meeting be our last. Allow me instead to offer a prayer.
Alma bas Lexentale: "Mother, abandon not Your wayward children of Ivalice,
But deliver us from our sins that we might know salvation."
Fran: In fact, our paths may cross again sooner than expected. I received word earlier from both the Eorzean Alliance and Doma that they have agreed to assist Lente's Tears, though not in the manner my leader first sought.
Fran: They will be providing refuge for those displaced by the fighting. Children, elderly, the wounded—I have been assured that all are welcome.
Fran: Unlike our demand for soldiery, both Lady Tataru and Lady Yugiri seemed much more amicable to this request. Perhaps they remembered how only recently Eorzea received refugees fleeing from Doma and Ala Mhigo. And perhaps it was I who reminded them.
Fran: As for now, I must return to Dalmasca with these tidings, and somehow not only convice the myriad resistance factions to cease their infighting, but also cooperate in the organization of a method in which refugees might be transported safely across the borders.
Fran: Needless to say, I have my work cut out for me. But even then, this is only the beginning. Once the refugees are safe, there is still a war to be fought...and won.
Fran: And when that time comes, do not be surprised when I come again calling.
Bwagi: If Ba'Gamnan were here, he'd smile and slap us both on the back. You'd probably fall on your face. I miss the captain.
Bwagi: I'm not as optimistic as my brothers as to our chances of meeting again, but know this, [Forename]: I will not forget you, and hope that maybe you will say the same.
Mikoto: It has been an honor to serve one as brave and just as you, [Forename]. I only hope my contributions to this most recent endeavor have proven of value.
Mikoto: Before this assignment, I would spend my days alone in the library poring over texts, learning of others' accomplishments, but never recording any of my own.
Mikoto: But witnessing you and all you achieved in our short time together has inspired me. When I return to Sharlayan, I will put in a request with the Students of Baldesion for an increase in field research!
Mikoto: But I think I shall start with something in lower La Noscea! Thank you, [Forename]!
Rinok: It won't be simple uniting the factions, but when has war ever been simple?
Rinok: Once we are a united front, we still have to figure a means of besting the most powerful army in the world. And if, by some miracle, we achieve that, then we still have an entire nation to rebuild...starting with the smoldering heap I used to call home.
Rinok: But then again, it sure feels better than being a sky pirate. Let the next time we meet, [Forename], be in the Desert Sapphire 'neath the royal Dalmascan standard!
Gijuk: Reports are that the IVth Legion has marched on Valnain, making the commercial center their new temporary base of operations. If that is so, then that is where we strike next!
Gijuk: We had our past misgivings, [Forename], but in the end we all learned to work for the same cause. I hope we can do so again, soon!

Speaking with Lina Mewrilah

Lina Mewrilah: Well, wasn't that an adventure, [Forename]? It is sad to think we must soon part ways, what with all we've been through these past few moons.
Lina Mewrilah: Satisfied with the city's unwillingness to turn him over to the Garleans, Jenomis has decided to purchase a permanent berth above Kugane for the Prima Vista. Supposedly he has already received petitions from hundreds of geiko and geinin to join the company.
Lina Mewrilah: And then there is the matter of my assignment. You will be delighted to learn that I am... almost finished. What? How do you expect one to write an expose when off battling forces of evil from beyond the void? Don't you worry, though. A few more weeks and I'll have a draft! All right... an outline.
Lina Mewrilah: Until then, I'll stay here in Kugane a while longer... at The Raven's expense, of course. Farewell!
