Surprise is a level 34 FATE spawned in Upper La Noscea.

Guide

Before the FATE officially starts, two Marauders (a male Roegadyn and a female Miqo'te) with Chocobos will spawn near Camp Bronze Lake and march past it towards the location of the FATE, where they will be ambushed.

Kobolds will spawn alternately at both ends of the caravan. At least one Marauder must survive.

Players having difficulty completing the FATE alone could try doing it as a Healer. Healing the NPCs will generate enormous enmity, and the player will also be able to keep themselves alive. A Tank would be the next easiest choice, but players will need to be careful to keep the allied NPCs out of the kobolds' area-of-effect attacks, and use their chocobo companion to keep themselves healthy.
