Accepting the quest
Forename. Are you interested in doing some work with a branchbearer? You'll be helping improve the quality of our compost.
First time
According to Anggir's research, the light bursts emitted by the branchbearers should amplify the nutritional value of decaying matter, and I'd like to test that theory on our compost beds.
These beds are basically pits where we bury things like fallen leaves, scraps of fish, and manure, then wait for teeny-tiny creatures to turn it all into rich compost. We have several of them situated at the base of trees found around the gainery.
Repeat
The branchbearers' luminescence had just the effect Anggir predicted, making our compost richer than ever before.
As such, my task for you involves mounting up on one of our bird-shaped plant friends and encouraging it to illuminate each compost bed in turn. Speak to Ziraal Ja to get started.
Speaking with Ziraal Ja
Kageel Ja told me the details of your task. Feel free to take one of the branchbearers─they'll enjoy the change of scenery.
Should it happen that you hop off and lose your mount, just come on back to me. The birds know the way home
As for the compost beds, look for them at the base of the large trees on the outskirts of Gok Golma. Have the branchbearer shine its luminescence on each bed, then head straight back to Kageel Ja to let him know it's done.
Kageel Ja needs your help enriching the compost. Speak with Ziraal Ja to mount a branchbearer and use its Shrouded Luminescence ability on the compost beds.
Optional dialogue
After dismounting the branchbearer:
Not quite done? The branchbearer wandered in a little while ago, so I wondered, but let's get you mounted up again.
Turning in the quest
The branchbearer cooperated without a fuss, then? Some of them run a bit wild from time to time, and I was worried they might make the job difficult for you.
Unpredictable temperaments aside, Anggir tells me their light and energies may have other uses we've yet to discover.
We'll do our best to keep looking into the possibilities. If you wouldn't mind helping out, then so much the better!
